Last 6 months: 2 reviews, 0 negative. ## The honest read Customers who hire JMS Partners once tend to keep calling. A 2026 review described John and his crew finishing a basement, redoing decks, leveling part of the house, installing hardwood flooring, replacing siding and painting the exterior — all across a multi-year relationship. Founded by John Tartaglione in Hopkinton in the early 2000s, the company works kitchens, bathrooms, additions, basements and custom homes across roughly 30 MetroWest towns. The reviews describe him tackling bigger projects without losing the details. A 2026 review described a living room gut renovation taken down to the studs with new closed-cell insulation and upgraded baseboard heat, finished on time and exactly on budget. A 2025 review described John and his team reacting quickly to burst winter pipes that exposed a room with no insulation, generating a reasonable quote and making the repair. Going back further, a 2015 review described the firm staying booked for months after regional winter storm damage but keeping a family patient through the wait, and another from that year described John taking on the job of fixing a previous contractor's costly mistakes. Across a decade of reviews, the same details repeat: crews that clean up daily, communicate clearly, and more than once finish a job better and faster than promised. One thing worth noting: Angi and HomeAdvisor's star aggregates cite 125 ratings at a perfect 5.0, but only 28 distinct written reviews are recoverable across the record — the star count reflects a broader base than the written history alone shows. Beyond that, there's little to flag: the company's Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active on the state registry, and its Better Business Bureau page carries an A+ rating. For a full room renovation, an addition, or a rescue job after another contractor's mistake, the reviews point to a firm that plans carefully and delivers on budget — a well-established call for MetroWest homeowners. **Strengths:** - On budget, on time — repeatedly cited across gut renovations and additions - Repeat clients — multi-year relationships across many project types - Emergency responsiveness — fast reaction to burst pipes and storm damage - Clean job sites — daily cleanup consistently praised across a decade **Where sources disagree:** - Angi and HomeAdvisor's star aggregate cites 125 ratings at 5.0, but only 28 distinct written reviews are recoverable across the record — the star count reflects a broader base than the written history alone shows. ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - 28 distinct written reviews from 2015 to 2026 across Google and Angi, every one of them five stars, with Angi and HomeAdvisor citing a broader 125-rating base at the same 5.0 average _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://maps.google.com/?cid=3181781561696146481&g_mp=CiVnb29nbGUubWFwcy5wbGFjZXMudjEuUGxhY2VzLkdldFBsYWNlEAIYBCAA) — “Google: 5★ from 9 ratings” - [Angi](https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/ma/hopkinton/jms-partners-inc-reviews-1.htm) — “Angi: 5.0★ from 125 ratings” - [HomeAdvisor](https://www.homeadvisor.com/rated.JMSPartnersInc.38442259.html) — “HomeAdvisor: 5.0★ from 125 ratings” - Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration (license 139862) is active on the state registry _(confidence: high)_ - [State License Registry](https://contractorhub.mass.gov/s/hic-contractor-search) — “MA hic license 139862 registry-verified active — registry holder of record: JMS PARTNERS, INC.” - Founded and owned by John Tartaglione, operating in Hopkinton since the early 2000s _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](https://www.jmspartnersinc.com) — “Ownership (self-reported): Founded and owned by John Tartaglione” - [Better Business Bureau](https://www.bbb.org/us/ma/hopkinton/profile/home-builders/jms-partners-0021-96849) — “BBB profile for JMS Partners of 1 Country Way, Hopkinton MA: an A+ BBB rating but NOT BBB accredited, a sole proprietorship started 9/13/200…” - Repeat customers describe years of ongoing work spanning basements, decks, flooring, siding and painting _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT25sMVNERXdiRk51TVVkVVgycHJlV1ZYVlVsM1UzYxAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x2c27f578f9c95431!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOnl1SDEwbFNuMUdUX2preWVXVUl3U3c%7C%7C?hl=en) — “5★ We’ve been using John and JMS partners for a few years.
