The company describes itself as family-owned and operated. A recent Google customer said they added cabinets to the adjacent wall of their kitchen: David came out and measured the space, they met with him in the showroom, and the finishes they chose fit their budget. That customer praised the cabinetry and the installation. A 2023 customer planning a kitchen remodel said John Lavorgna zeroed in on a kitchen layout for their family, and that he and his wife arranged showroom visits at times when the customer could find a sitter. That 2023 customer also said it took some time to work out an estimate, and in the end took a piecemeal approach instead. A 2023 Google customer said the owner spent an hour at the house measuring and taking pictures for a bathroom remodel, then never called with plans, even after the customer went to his office to go over the same things again. Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0533559, held by John A Lavorgna & Co Inc, as inactive. **Strengths:** - Kitchen cabinet install — a recent customer praised the cabinetry and the installation - Flexible showroom visits — a 2023 customer said visits fit their sitter schedule **Concerns:** - No callback on plans — a 2023 customer said promised bathroom plans never came ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Says it is a design-build remodeling company serving New Haven, Fairfield and Litchfield Counties since 1961, with a showroom and office _(confidence: medium)_ - [Houzz](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/design-build-firms/john-a-lavorgna-and-co-inc-pfvwus-pf~1831334041) — “About (Houzz profile, the business's own statement): John A.
