## The honest read

Ask a Jordan Custom Carpentry client what stood out, and the same word keeps coming up: meticulous. The Norwood company, run by owner Chris Jordan, works kitchens, bathrooms, additions, and full interior-to-exterior renovations across the Metrowest area, and its own site says it's been at it for about a decade.

The written record backs that up with real depth — 13 reviews on file dating from 2018 to 2025, most describing full remodels rather than small jobs: a gutted 1980s master bathroom, a basement finished for the kids, a porch-and-patio build paired with a master-tub-to-walk-in-shower conversion, a primary bathroom rebuilt around a custom cabinet and a "smart" shower. In a 2025 review, a homeowner described a project spanning a mudroom, two bathrooms and the full exterior — doors, windows, siding, deck and front stairs — calling the communication excellent "from bid to completion." Its Houzz page, built on 19 ratings, averages a perfect 5.0 across work quality, communication and value, and a BuildZoom permit-history check scores the company 91, in the top 37% of Massachusetts licensed contractors.

That pattern repeats across the seven-year record: staying on budget, keeping job sites clean and livable mid-project, and communicating clearly through delays. A 2021 review specifically credited Chris with managing Covid-era parts delays and coordinating multiple subcontractors' schedules without friction.

One thing worth confirming before booking: the company's original Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, #183793, now shows expired in the state registry, even though its construction supervisor license (CS-106695) is active. BuildZoom separately lists a newer HIC registration, #203720, as active since November 2025 — worth asking which number covers your project. Beyond that, this is a company whose whole record, from a 2018 master-bath gut-remodel to a 2025 window replacement, points the same direction: big, multi-trade remodels handled carefully, for homeowners who want one person managing the whole job.

**Strengths:**
- Whole-room remodels — coordinates bid to completion across mudrooms, baths, additions
- Clear communication — reviewers cite responsiveness and no billing surprises
- Clean, livable job sites — work areas kept spotless through the project
- Budget discipline — helped homeowners prioritize spend and hit target costs

**Concerns:**
- HIC registration lapsed — original #183793 now shows expired in state records
