## The honest read

K&R Power Washing LLC washes houses, decks, patios and gutters, and its website names a service area of Hartford, West Hartford, Glastonbury, Newington, Wethersfield, Rocky Hill, Avon and Middletown. On Google it carries 4.9 stars from 146 ratings.

One recent customer said the house had not been washed in six years and the algae on the north side was bad; that side now looks sparkling new. A customer with a pond by the deck said they were careful not to get anything in the water. One customer said Kyle washed the house within an hour. One customer said Kyle went beyond the house to the fence and front steps, and sprayed a bee hive attached to a corner of the house. One customer had both power washing and gutter cleaning done and called the owner, Richard, an honest guy.

A 2023 customer said Richard power washed the house, washed exterior windows on both floors and got on the roof to make sure a side window was cleaned. A 2025 customer said the company did the roof, house and driveway, and that customer signed a yearly cleaning contract with them.

One customer said a few windows needed to be wiped down afterward, and Richard took care of it promptly. A customer who hired the company for power washing and window cleaning said an employee damaged nearly 40 window screens; that customer said Richard acknowledged the damage and promised replacement, but after more than a year never replaced the screens or reimbursed them, and eventually blocked their calls. A renter who did not hire the company said they came early, before the vegetables could be covered, that they use a sodium hypochlorite solution, and that the paint on the doors was damaged and the garden soil poisoned.

**Strengths:**
- Algae removal — a north side unwashed six years came out sparkling
- Care near a pond — careful not to get anything in the water
- Same-day visit — a customer said they came out the same day
- Window touch-up — Richard promptly handled windows that needed wiping

**Concerns:**
- Damaged window screens — a customer said nearly 40 were never replaced
- Garden near the wash — a renter said door paint and soil were damaged
