On Houzz, Kitchens by Design describes itself as a Danbury, CT cabinetry and design business and an authorized Fabuwood and Signature dealer; on HomeAdvisor it says it has served the Danbury area since 2015 and specializes in kitchen and bathroom designs and cabinet installations. A recent Houzz customer said designer Judi guided them through the whole process, from design to installation. Judi went through the design with one recent Google customer, and the crew implemented it. A recent customer called the process from design through execution really efficient. A 2024 customer said Jim, Alec, Bill and Keith did a complete gut and rebuild of a small kitchen more than 35 years old, and that Judi helped add features it had been missing. A 2023 customer said Judi helped turn an open space and an idea into a bar. A 2014 Houzz customer said Lisa helped design a full kitchen remodel after a flood from a broken pipe, kept it within budget and checked that the ordered appliances would fit. A 2015 customer said the Omega cabinets arrived exactly when Lisa Tricinelli said they would. A 2017 HomeAdvisor customer thanked the company for its work on a bathroom. A 2025 Google customer said a major error left their kitchen months behind, and that a year later the company was still not following through on compensation the owner had promised verbally and the design consultant had promised in writing. That 2025 customer also included a note signed by Judi apologizing and saying she would sell the cabinets to give them some compensation. Google shows 4.6 stars from 14 ratings, Houzz 5.0 from 11, and the Better Business Bureau grades the company A+. **Strengths:** - Kitchen design help — a recent Houzz customer said Judi guided them throughout - A full kitchen rebuild — a 2024 customer described a complete gut and rebuild - On-time cabinet delivery — a 2015 customer said cabinets arrived when promised **Concerns:** - Delay and compensation — a 2025 customer said months of delay, compensation unpaid a year later **Where sources disagree:** - HomeAdvisor's self-description says the company has served the Danbury area since 2015, while Houzz reviews of Kitchens by Design are dated as early as 2012. ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - A recent Google customer said KBD built a new kitchen island, wove old hardwood in with new, and replaced the countertops without damaging tiles _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT2xoc01XVndjR0ZGUTFkS1ZVeHlVRTVUVVhJMVFXYxAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x539a1445f0f7613d!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOlhsMWVwcGFFQ1dKVUxyUE5TUXI1QWc%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ KBD did an excellent job with our custom kitchen project - building a new kitchen island, weaving old hardwood with new, and replacing ou…” - Describes itself on Houzz as a Danbury, CT cabinetry and design business and an authorized Fabuwood and Signature dealer _(confidence: medium)_ - [Houzz](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/kitchen-and-bath-designers/kitchens-by-design-pfvwus-pf~721625706) — “About (Houzz profile, the business's own statement): *Authorized Fabuwood and Signature Dealers* Based in Danbury, CT, Kitchens by Design ca…” - Says on HomeAdvisor it has served the Danbury area since 2015, specializing in kitchen and bathroom designs and cabinet installations _(confidence: medium)_ - [HomeAdvisor](https://www.homeadvisor.com/rated.KitchensbyDesign.101796435.html) — “About (HomeAdvisor, self-described): Kitchens by Design has been serving the Danbury area since 2015.
