It holds 4.8 stars from 23 Google ratings and an A+ from the BBB. Its written reviews are few. In an October 2025 Google review, a customer said Larlin's sent a handyman for several small jobs around the house and completed everything on the list with care. A 2023 Thumbtack customer credited him with coming out to look at the work when others did not respond, but said he did not deliver on written estimates as promised and did not honor his word. The company says it offers free estimates and 24/7 emergency service and is insured. Its Connecticut home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0643977, is listed as expired on the state registry, inactive due to non-renewal of the credential. **Strengths:** - Small-jobs list — a 2025 reviewer's whole list was completed with care **Concerns:** - Estimates — a 2023 reviewer says written estimates were not honored - Expired HIC registration — inactive due to non-renewal on the state registry ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Says it has been in business nine years, serving towns including West Haven, New Haven, Hamden, Milford and Branford _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](https://larlins-home-improvement.com) — “Self-reported 9 years in business” - [Official Website](https://larlins-home-improvement.com) — “Stated service area (self-reported): West Haven, Ansonia, Bethany, Branford, Cheshire, Derby, Durham, East Haven, Guilford, Hamden, Milford,…” - An October 2025 review says a handyman completed several small jobs around the house with care _(confidence: medium)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT21neWN6QmpVVmwxZUdGUFFuWnpPVjl4WVdsMlUxRRAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x3651fceb3132c1a5!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOmgyczBjUVl1eGFPQnZzOV9xYWl2U1E%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ Excellent service.
