## The honest read

A home remodel in Reading, Massachusetts went badly, by one customer's account. In an October 2020 HomeAdvisor review, the customer described hiring Dayanara of Lavish Homes together with Moises of JA Electric to remodel their home: install hardwood floors, refinish the existing ones, paint the house and do a large amount of electrical work.

By that customer's account, the flooring contractor they hired damaged the floors and the home, and the customer had to bring in a new contractor to redo everything. The review says Dayanara tried to stain and finish the floor herself, would not hire a new contractor to finish the job the contract covered, and instead looked for ways for the customer to pay for the rest of the work on their own, including paying contractors who had not been paid. The same customer wrote that Moises left the electrical work unfinished with a number of fixtures not working, that both had gone completely dark, and that they would be taking them to court. They gave the job half a star on HomeAdvisor.

On the same Angi and HomeAdvisor pages, customers from 2018 through early 2020 describe electrical jobs — switches replaced and a light fixture installed in December 2018, a breaker fixed in January 2019, smoke detectors checked in April 2019 — and several credit Moises by name, one J & A Electrical. A January 2019 customer who had a couple of outlets replaced gave 1.5 stars and did not think the young worker knew what he was doing.
