--- title: "Legacy Home Finishes" description: "Peeling veneer on the cabinet boxes, trim that was dark brown or bare wood — in April 2026 a homeowner had all of it come back white, boxes, walls and trim" doc_version: "2026-09-14" last_updated: "2026-09-19" --- # Legacy Home Finishes **Trade:** House Painting · **Address:** 17 Birch St, Peabody, MA 01960 · **Phone:** (978) 766-9760 · **Website:** http://legacyhomefinishes.com/ · **Languages:** English **Rating: 4.3/5** (medium confidence) — from 22 reviews across 2 sources. 100% of sentiment-scored reviews read net-positive. Last 6 months: 1 reviews, 0 negative. ## The honest read Peeling veneer on the cabinet boxes, trim that was dark brown or bare wood — in April 2026 a homeowner had all of it come back white, boxes, walls and trim together. Cabinets like that are a good part of what Legacy Home Finishes does out of Peabody. Nico — some customers write it Nick or Niko — runs the operation with a crew that a May 2023 reviewer named as including Juan. Anyone searching older reviews will find the same business under Legacy Painting; the work has always run both ways, full interiors and exteriors on one side, cabinets and vanities refinished on the other. A September 2024 customer wanted white kitchen cabinets that would not look painted but factory-finished, and said that is what they got. In September 2023, espresso cabinets that had never been painted plus two bathroom vanities were done on a tight deadline. An April 2026 vanity was finished in high gloss, with Nico walking the customer through what happens if it needs a touch-up years later. That last part is not hypothetical. A customer whose cabinets had been done a few years earlier noticed some streaking in 2024 and decided to live with it; Nico called the next day to check in and was back the following week to put it right. On the painting side: a full house exterior repainted inside a week in March 2022, every room of an interior in April 2025, and doors, trim, walls, ceilings and vanities on a move-in in September 2024. A January 2025 buyer painting the first floor before moving in said Nico caught a flaw in their color plan they would never have spotted. Reviewers writing in May 2023 describe the house left clean at the end of each day at a price they considered fair. All 22 reviews on file are five-star, running from 2021 to 2026. If you are pricing a cabinet refinish instead of a replacement, or an interior repaint where the trim and ceilings matter, this is a small outfit whose customers keep describing the same care. Ask what the cabinet finish schedule looks like — cure time, how long the kitchen is out of use — and get the touch-up terms in writing. **Strengths:** - Cabinet refinishing — veneer and dark wood brought back to a factory-smooth white - Warranty callbacks — streaked cabinets fixed a week after a 2024 check-in - Whole-house interiors — walls, ceilings, doors, trim and vanities in one visit - Exterior repaints — one full house exterior finished inside a week in 2022 - Daily cleanup — May 2023 reviewers found the house clean each evening - Color guidance — flagged a flaw in one owner's January 2025 color plan **Concerns:** - Recent activity — two of the 22 reviews come from the last six months - Two business names — older accounts review the same work as Legacy Painting **Where sources disagree:** - Reviews written between 2021 and 2023 name the business Legacy Painting, while the current listing is Legacy Home Finishes. ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Kitchen cabinet refinishing a September 2024 customer said looked factory-finished rather than painted _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sChZDSUhNMG9nS0VJQ0FnSUNIbl9yaVR3EAE!2m1!1s0x0:0x507eae734d96bb5e!3m1!1s2@1:CIHM0ogKEICAgICHn_riTw%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ My fiancée and I hired Nick to refinish our kitchen cabinets.
