# Levis Companies, Inc. **Trade:** General Contractor / Remodeling · **Address:** 158 Pleasant St, North Andover, MA 01845, USA · **Phone:** (978) 687-2783 · **Website:** https://leviscompaniesinc.com/ · **Languages:** English **Rating: 4.7/5** (medium confidence) — from 14 reviews across 6 sources. 100% of sentiment-scored reviews read net-positive. Last 6 months: 1 reviews, 0 negative. ## The honest read Levis Companies is a North Andover general contractor that says it's been a family business since 1979, and its scope backs that up: Houzz lists everything from kitchen and bathroom remodels to custom home construction and additions, with typical jobs running $25,000 to $2 million. Both the company's Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration and its construction-supervisor and electrician licenses are independently verified active. Every review on file so far — fourteen of them, most from 2024 and 2025 — is five stars, and they describe real project variety rather than one narrow niche. One family had their 1950s ranch gutted and rebuilt floor-up over a year-long project, targeting near-zero energy use; another hired the team to finish a garage attic into a home office; a third had a kitchen, bathroom, laundry room and porch remodeled along with a full first-floor repaint. Two reviews describe disaster-recovery work — one family rebuilt after a fire destroyed their home, another after storm damage from a roof failure — both handled in coordination with insurance. A recurring theme is Levis stepping into situations other contractors left behind: one reviewer describes the team taking over a childcare-center build after the original contractor abandoned the project before it even started, managing it start to finish within the agreed timeframe. Joe and Joey Levis come up by name across review after review, credited for staying communicative about schedule and cost changes as a project moves along. Nothing negative has surfaced yet to weigh against this — the sample is smaller than some larger operations (fourteen reviews across six sites), but everything on file so far is favorable. For a project of any size, from an attic conversion to a full custom build, it's worth asking directly about timeline and budget check-ins given the range of scope the company takes on. **Strengths:** - Perfect review run — fourteen for fourteen five-star reviews on file - Verified HIC license — active Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration - Multiple verified licenses — construction supervisor and electrician credentials confirmed - Rescued abandoned projects — stepped in after another contractor walked away - Family-owned since 1979 — decades of North Andover general contracting ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is registry-verified active _(confidence: high)_ - [State License Registry](https://contractorhub.mass.gov/s/hic-contractor-search) — “MA hic license 197896 registry-verified active — registry holder of record: Joseph G Levis JR” - BuildZoom separately verifies active Massachusetts construction-supervisor and electrician licenses tied to the company _(confidence: high)_ - [BuildZoom](https://www.buildzoom.com/contractor/joseph-g-levis-vt) — “Licence listed on BuildZoom: License #CS-108919 Status Active State Massachusetts Type Building Licenses, Construction Supervisor (Verified …” - [BuildZoom](https://www.buildzoom.com/contractor/joseph-g-levis-vt) — “Licence listed on BuildZoom: License #CS-030651 Status Active State Massachusetts Type Building Licenses, Construction Supervisor (Verified …” - [BuildZoom](https://www.buildzoom.com/contractor/joseph-g-levis-vt) — “Licence listed on BuildZoom: License #9979 Status Active State Massachusetts Type Electrician (Verified License)” - [BuildZoom](https://www.buildzoom.com/contractor/joseph-g-levis-vt) — “Licence listed on BuildZoom: License #103772 Status Active State Massachusetts Type Home Improvement Contractor Date Issued 07-09-2026 (Veri…” - Fourteen reviews on file are each five stars _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT2xKMWVHRmtlR1JNUjFKd05EZFRWRE41TkVSVFRXYxAB!2m1!1s0x0:0xdd2a3b1434bc1cbb!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOlJ1eGFkeGRMR1JwNDdTVDN5NERTTWc%7C%7C?hl=en) — “5★ I couldn't be happier with the work from Levis Companies!
