## The honest read

Lion Exteriors and Construction describes itself on its website as a family- and employee-owned general contractor serving Rhode Island and Southern Massachusetts, focused on supportive housing, tenant remodels and commercial renovations. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active on the state registry.

A 2023 Google customer said their insurance company had Lion Exteriors do a complete replacement of the siding and trim after an accident with a lawn company tore the siding off. That 2023 customer said removing the siding exposed a ceiling leak caused by missing flashing, and that Marco and his team took care of it right away. The same 2023 customer said the construction took a little longer than expected due to some minor hiccups.

A 2017 Thumbtack customer said Lion Exteriors replaced their side deck and that Sam was a joy to work with. A 2019 Angi reviewer who said they know roofing wrote that there was no damage to plants and that they were kept informed.

A 2024 Google reviewer said the siding work was completed well and on time, but that the company removed and disposed of old siding the reviewer had declined, leaving a $1600 bill in extra costs. That 2024 reviewer also listed five broken sprinkler heads, at least one broken roof shingle, a mangled gutter heater cable and dozens of nails left on the property. A 2024 Google reviewer described subpar workmanship that caused significant damage to their home, and demands for payments beyond the original contract.

**Strengths:**
- A siding replacement — a 2023 customer said Marco stayed in communication
- A side deck — a 2017 customer said it came out beautiful

**Concerns:**
- Declined work billed — a 2024 customer got a $1600 bill for declined removal
- Property damage — a 2024 customer listed broken sprinkler heads and a shingle
- Extra payments demanded — a 2024 customer said charges went beyond the contract

**Where sources disagree:**
- Google shows 3 stars from 6 ratings while Thumbtack shows 4.9 stars from 11 ratings and Angi 5.0 from 3
