The company describes itself as a family-owned junk removal and contracting company serving Mahopac, New York, and surrounding areas, in business for more than 10 years. A recent customer who had a deck replaced said Karen advised a 20-yard dumpster, with a week to fill it and a charge for the weight once it was determined. A 2026 customer who found mildew in a storage unit said Robert gave a quote over the phone and sent someone over within the hour. A 2023 customer said a mini dumpster was dropped off and picked up the same day they called. The work goes past hauling. A 2024 customer said the company did major work in a basement: new vinyl plank flooring and underlayment, replaced water-damaged sheet rock, new doorframes, painted walls and ceilings and new lighting. A 2026 customer said Local Boys helped with a near full renovation of 2 bedrooms. A 2024 customer said they performed masonry, painting and drain work on the property. A 2022 customer said Local Boys did interior demolition on two bathrooms and left the job site clean. **Strengths:** - A quick junk pickup — a recent customer had debris gone within 48 hours - A 20-yard dumpster — a recent customer got sizing advice from Karen - A basement renovation — a 2024 customer described flooring, sheet rock and lighting ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - A recent customer said Local Boys gave an estimate the next day and removed heavy debris the day after _(confidence: medium)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT2tFM1ZWRmhia0V5V210bGRWTXdaVVZyVjJaQ01IYxAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x90460c5dffb205b0!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOkE3VVFhbkEyWmtldVMwZUVrV2ZCMHc%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ I'd been trying to figure out how to get a few extremely heavy bits of junk--some contracting debris and a horrible barrel of congealed d…” - The company describes itself as a family-owned junk removal and contracting company serving Mahopac, New York, in business more than 10 years _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](https://www.localboysny.com) — “About (self-reported, verbatim): Local Boy’s is a family-owned and operated, local junk removal and contracting company serving Mahopac, New…” - [Official Website](https://www.localboysny.com) — “Self-reported 10 years in business” - A recent customer rented a 20-yard dumpster for deck debris, with a week to fill it and a weight-based charge _(confidence: medium)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT2taUGRGRjJORXhWZURWdWNUQjBUaTF6T1ZabmQwRRAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x90460c5dffb205b0!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOkZPdFF2NExVeDVucTB0Ti1zOVZnd0E%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ I am extremely pleased with the service rendered by the local boys.
