The company says it has been in business for 14 years, and its website lists home solar, EV charging, off-grid systems, battery backup and home electrical services. A recent Google customer said MSS installed solar panels with an inverter and battery for an off-grid camp, and that MSS electricians then wired the camp and upgraded some old wiring. That customer said both the solar crew and the electricians gave a date and time and were there when they said they would be, and that the site was left clean. A recent customer said the installation took one day using Enphase equipment, and that they were walked through the system afterward. A recent customer whose solar panels and battery backup went live said the system is running fine, and that they would not have noticed a couple of outages without a text. A 2025 Google customer said "the guys came out and brushed the snow off the roof" and had the panels up in one day. A 2025 Reddit commenter said they started with panels, later added a battery, and were never upsold on anything. A 2022 Reddit commenter said they had them out twice to deal with issues caused by faulty SolarEdge inverters, and that both times they were really helpful. Its Better Business Bureau grade is A+. On the BBB, one reviewer wrote that the company was not transparent about what a system would end up producing, and advised asking what percentage of savings you will have. **Strengths:** - On-time arrivals — a recent customer said both crews came when promised - A one-day install — a recent customer said installation took one day - Inverter follow-up — a 2022 Reddit commenter said they helped twice **Concerns:** - Production estimates — a BBB reviewer said end results were not transparent ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Says it has been in business for 14 years _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](https://mainesolarsolutions.com) — “Self-reported 14 years in business” - Website lists home solar, EV charging, off-grid, battery backup and home electrical services _(confidence: high)_ - [Official Website](https://mainesolarsolutions.com) — “About (self-reported, verbatim): Services FOR HOME Home solarEV chargingOff-gridBattery backup FOR COMMERCIAL Commercial solarCommercial EV …” - Installed solar panels, an inverter and a battery for an off-grid camp, then wired the camp _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT25sMFkwcDFMVTlJYkRoS2QwOUNZbkozT0hNNVpGRRAB!2m1!1s0x0:0xef1a9799c4f7c4de!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOnl0Y0p1LU9IbDhKd09CYnJ3OHM5ZFE%7C%7C?hl=en) — “5★ MSS installed solar panels along with inverter and battery for our off grid camp.
