## The honest read

Mainely Grass is a New England lawn care company whose own site describes traditional and organic lawn treatment programs plus tick and mosquito control, run from five branch locations in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Tewksbury, MA is one of the towns the company lists, and the company says it has 25 years of experience. Its BBB page shows an A+ grade, though the business is not BBB accredited.

A recent Google customer described a tick control spray treatment by Daniel Rojas, who took the time to answer all of their questions. Another customer writing this year said they have been with Mainely Grass for over 10 years and that every year it brings the service it promises.

A 2025 customer said they signed up for fertilizing, aeration and overseeding, and winterizing, and wrote that the lawn came back plush and healthy. That 2025 customer said lawn technician Daniel Rojas explained everything he would be doing. A 2023 customer said they valued the soil tests and the detailed notes the technician left after each visit.

A 2024 customer, paying around $1,000 a full season for a lawn of about a quarter acre, said the lime treatments and aeration/over-seeding did not fix a moss problem and the yard was being over-run with moss. That 2024 customer said a rep pointed to lime amendments offered at extra cost, and that the office canceled the 2024 season and processed a refund. In a later update to the same 2024 review, the customer said moss and dead spots continued despite a discount, that a rep said the property had too much shade and trees, and that they discontinued service after the 2024 season.

**Strengths:**
- Tick control visit — a 2026 customer said all their questions were answered
- Long-time customer — a 2026 customer reported over 10 years with the company
- Soil tests and notes — a 2023 customer valued the technician's notes after each visit

**Concerns:**
- Moss problem unresolved — a 2024 customer said moss spread despite lime treatments
- Shady yard limits — a 2024 customer was told shade and trees limited results
