## The honest read

In December 2025 a customer walked into Manchester Glass Company with no appointment and had a small piece of door glass cut to size in less than 10 minutes. The Manchester, Connecticut shop says it has been in business 54 years. Its home improvement registration, HIC.0552600, is active on the state registry, its BBB grade is A+, and it holds 4.6 stars from 66 Google ratings.

In January 2025 a customer described the company measuring a window at their home, emailing the quote and doing the installation. In October 2024 a customer had a window replaced at their home in Manchester, then went back to have five more replaced, calling the crew quick, professional and cost effective; their one small point was that the windows weren't cleaned before or after. In a February 2023 review, a customer said the company came out to scope three single-pane sunroom windows, gave a quote and did the job to perfection. In September 2023 Sheila ordered and coordinated two broken panes in rollout Anderson windows, and Chris and Gary installed them. In February 2024 Frank and Matt fixed a patio door that had been extremely difficult to slide open or closed for many years.

In July 2026 Sheila walked a customer through measuring a replacement window insert for a front door over the phone, then explained how to swap it out at pickup. In an August 2025 Reddit post, a commenter said Manchester Glass installed a neo-angle glass shower for $2K, the cheapest of three quotes they got.

In a February 2023 review, a customer said their project took about two months from first call to final installation, though the company never missed a date once one was set. In July 2024 a customer said a screen repair promised in one week wasn't ready after a week, and a few days later the shop lost the invoice. In June 2024 a one-star reviewer said the front office was not kind on the phone or in person, and the quote took over a week and was significantly more expensive than other local glass companies.

In October 2022 a customer said a basic 3x4 shower glass enclosure promised in four weeks took five months, with two unsuccessful attempts to install due to incorrect measurements or cutting. The company used a subcontractor for the shower glass, and one installer crew drilled holes in the wrong places in the new tile and marble countertop. In an edit, the customer wrote that after six months water was leaking out along the glass door and they still had no functioning shower.

**Strengths:**
- Window glass replacement — sunroom, Anderson and home windows replaced
- Walk-in glass cutting — door glass cut in under 10 minutes, 2025
- Patio door repair — Frank and Matt fixed a long-stuck slider, 2024

**Concerns:**
- Turnaround times — 2024 screen repair late, invoice lost
- Quote speed and price — 2024 quote took over a week
- Shower enclosure install — 2022 job took five months and leaked
