## The honest read

Marathon HVAC describes itself as a New Hampshire based heating, air conditioning and controls contractor, says it has been in business for 30 years, and lists a service area that runs from Rochester, Dover and Somersworth to Laconia, Conway and Portsmouth. Its New Hampshire HVAC licence, MBE2601859, is active on the state registry, held by Marathon HVAC, LLC. The Better Business Bureau grades it A+.

A recent customer who had several mini-split units installed said the project took several days, as expected for a job of that size, and that the team showed up when scheduled and worked late into the evening to finish each day. When that customer needed something checked a couple of days after completion, Marathon came out the same day. The same customer got quotes from several other companies and said Marathon's pricing stood out. A recent customer said Keith explained the available options, worked with them on a system that met their needs and then installed it.

In a 2025 review, a customer said their mini-split stopped producing heat as it started to frost, and that Keith, their technician, came by on a weekend and got it fully operational in just under an hour for under two hundred dollars. That 2025 customer said he explained what happened, what he did to fix it and preventative maintenance, with pictures and a full walk-through. A 2025 customer said Keith was brought in on a very complicated residential system after numerous contractors had walked away, and fixed the problems rather than selling a replacement heating system that some quotes put in the low six figures. A 2025 customer said Keith replaced their water heating system and noticed a problem with the old propane exhaust pipe, which he made safer.

A 2024 customer said Keith arrived on time and quickly got to fixing their gas line leak. A 2024 customer said Keith worked on their propane furnace and central air. A 2024 customer said Keith was done in the time period he said he would be, with no surprises.

**Strengths:**
- Mini-split installation — a recent customer said the team worked late to finish each day
- Same-day return visit — a recent customer said they came out the same day
- Weekend heat repair — a 2025 customer said Keith got their mini-split running within an hour
- Repair over replacement — a 2025 customer said Keith fixed a system others walked away from
