A recent customer with an antique home in Newtown says Mark has painted its exterior twice, and that when he came back eight years after his last visit, there were only minor touch-ups to do. He then painted three interior rooms that had not seen a paintbrush in 25 years. They say Mark checks in with his crew frequently when he is not on site himself and that his prices are fair. A 2026 customer said Mark assessed the exterior of the house and recommended several plans to address deferred maintenance, problematic windows and the choice of a color scheme. In that 2026 account, Mark had his crew paint several large swatches to help with the color choice, and the crew, led by Patricio, was careful and easy to communicate with. The same 2026 customer listed deck refurbishment, daily clean-up and window cleaning at the end as part of the job. A 2025 customer in Sandy Hook said both inside and outside painting were done and the house was left spotless when the work was completed, and that Mark came to the house every day to observe what was done that day. A 2025 reviewer said the company painted their house in Newtown that year and showed up when they said they would. A 2025 customer said Mark and his team had painted the house 3 times in the previous 20 years. Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0627856, as active, held by MARK SVANDA PAINTING LLC. **Strengths:** - Lasting exterior paint — a recent customer needed only minor touch-ups after eight years - Large color swatches — a 2026 customer said the crew painted samples to choose from - A spotless finish — a 2025 Sandy Hook customer said the house was left spotless ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Google: 5 stars from 7 ratings _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=Mark%20Svanda%20Painting%20%26%20Remodeling&query_place_id=ChIJ28TKAvH754kRRtfrvpkml9w) — “Google: 5★ from 7 ratings” - Says on its website it has been remodeling and painting homes for over 30 years _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](http://www.marksvanda.com) — “About (self-reported, verbatim): From giving your home a facelift with a fresh coat of paint to a full interior or exterior restoration proj…” - A recent customer said Mark returned eight years after painting their antique home's exterior and had only minor touch-ups to do _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT2pSQ2JFZDFabFZYWnkxTVQzaHVMVEpSVWpWS2FIYxAB!2m1!1s0x0:0xdc972699beebd746!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOjRCbEd1ZlVXZy1MT3huLTJRUjVKaHc%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ Mark has painted the exterior of our antique home twice since we moved to Newtown.
