## The honest read

Mass Stump & Tree Removal holds 5.0 stars from 78 ratings on Angi and 4.9 stars from 8 ratings on Google. On its Angi profile, the company says it opened its doors in 1965 under owner Peter Tankis, who it says has been climbing and caring for trees in the Blackstone Valley area and beyond.

A recent Google customer said Jordan and his coworker removed several large tree limbs, completed the job safely, and left the cleanup in good order. A 2022 customer said Peter and his son scheduled the tree removal and trimming quickly, kept the yard clean and avoided tearing up the lawn. A 2021 customer said they brought in a remote-controlled boom lift that is lighter on the lawn to do less damage.

A 2020 customer said Pete, Jordan and their crew used an aerial man lift to take down an oak tree over 90 feet tall from the top, so as not to damage the very close buildings. A 2020 customer who needed 10 trees removed, three of them over 100 feet tall and very close to the house, agreed on a $3,200 estimate from Peter and said a small tree not in the estimate was taken down without an extra charge.

A 2020 customer said a crew of 4 finished in one day except for the final cutting of trunks along the driveway and the stump grinding, which took 2 hours the next morning. In 2020, that customer also said plywood was put down where the tracked vehicles turned on the lawn, reported no unexpected added costs, and described a 4 week wait to get scheduled.

**Strengths:**
- Large tree limbs — a recent customer said several were removed safely
- Tall oak removal — a 2020 customer described a 90-foot oak taken down by lift
- Lawn protection — a 2020 customer said plywood was laid where vehicles turned
- No extra charge — a 2020 customer said an added small tree cost nothing more

**Concerns:**
- Scheduling wait — a 2020 customer described a 4 week wait to get scheduled
