He picked up on the first ring and showed up the next day with a ladder and tools, according to a March 2024 Houzz review. Mayne Construction is a Fairfield County general contractor with 5.0 stars from 173 Houzz ratings and 5 stars from 21 on Google; it says it has been in business 40 years and works towns from Greenwich and Darien to Danbury and New Milford. The jobs are large and varied. A February 2026 Houzz reviewer finished a 5,000 sq ft modern net zero house with Ron Mayne. In a November 2025 Google review, Ron & Dan did custom cabinetry and the full install for a gutted kitchen, with 3 slabs of Taj Mahal and a custom bar. An October 2025 reviewer added another level to their home with two new bedrooms and converted the garage into an ADU. A June 2025 Houzz customer swapped an oil furnace, tank, AC and ductwork for heat pumps while gutting the basement and garage, and another that month had hardwood floors put down and rooms repainted while relocating from overseas. In a 2020 review, the company made a first floor wheelchair accessible. Older accounts reach back to a 2015 renovation of an 1835 post and beam barn kept within budget and timeframe, and a 2016 job that turned an elevated open deck into a year-round room. Its Connecticut HIC license, HIC.0572430, is active on the state registry. Its BBB grade is A+. **Strengths:** - Follow-up years later — a 2024 customer got a next-day repair visit - Large projects — additions, a net zero house, a garage-to-ADU conversion - Kitchen work — a 2025 gutted kitchen got custom cabinetry ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - 5.0 stars from 173 Houzz ratings; 5 stars from 21 Google ratings _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=Mayne%20Construction%2C%20LLC&query_place_id=ChIJAwtK4f3854kRuBDUVe1smFw) — “Google: 5★ from 21 ratings” - [Houzz](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/general-contractors/mayne-construction-llc-pfvwus-pf~1291888061) — “Houzz: 5.0★ from 173 ratings” - Connecticut HIC license HIC.0572430 is active on the state registry _(confidence: high)_ - [State License Registry](https://www.elicense.ct.gov/Lookup/LicenseLookup.aspx) — “CT hic license HIC.0572430 registry-verified active — registry holder of record: MAYNE CONSTRUCTION LLC” - BBB grade A+ _(confidence: high)_ - [Better Business Bureau](https://www.bbb.org/us/ct/newtown/profile/construction-management/mayne-construction-llc-0111-22004884) — “Better Business Bureau grade: A+” - Self-reported 40 years in business _(confidence: low)_ - [Official Website](https://mayneconstructionllc.com) — “Self-reported 40 years in business” - Came back the next day for wind damage six years after a remodel, per a March 2024 review _(confidence: medium)_ - [Houzz](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/general-contractors/mayne-construction-llc-pfvwus-pf~1291888061) — “5★ Mayne Construction did a major remodel for us 6 years ago.
