Last 6 months: 193 reviews, 1 negative. ## The honest read Meerkat Pest Control holds a 4.9-star average across 278 Google ratings. On its website, the company says it treats ticks and mosquitoes, crawling insects such as stink bugs, carpenter ants and termites, and stinging insects like bees, wasps and hornets, and it names Hartford, Torrington and Waterbury among the places it serves. One customer had a bald-faced hornet nest about two feet long in a bush in the yard; Miguel explained what he was doing and how it would work, then took care of it. Cuong removed a large yellow jacket nest from a basement after explaining how he would do it. A customer with hundreds of wasps in the living room said they were serviced within 24 hours, that Mark inspected the entire house rather than only the affected area, and that they saw substantial improvement within an hour. When wasps were coming in through the walls, a customer said Meerkat was at the house within 3 hours and fixed the problem right away, after another company could not come until Friday. Mark found that what one customer thought were yellow jackets were Eastern hornets, and explained the products he used and how the treatment worked. A hornet nest between the walls behind a breaker box was a hard spot to reach; that customer said the company came out on time, Juan took care of the job, and the fees were reasonable compared with others they had used. Matt found where mice were getting into a shed and spray-foamed the openings. A customer on their third service from Bob said he is good at sealing areas around the home against rodents and called the pricing pretty good. One customer said a yellow jacket treatment did not resolve the nest: they were told the insects would be dead within 48 hours, still saw a lot of activity around the nest two weeks later, were then told the poison can take up to 21 days to work, and were asked to pay for another treatment. Connecticut lists its pesticide business registration, PMBR.05375, as active, held by Meerkat Pest Control, LLC. **Strengths:** - Stinging insect nests — hornet, wasp and yellow jacket nests removed from homes and yards - A quick arrival — at the house within 3 hours for wasps in the walls - Treatment explained — technicians walk customers through what they are doing - Rodent entry sealing — mice entry points in a shed spray-foamed **Concerns:** - A retreatment charge — a customer was asked to pay again after a nest stayed active ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - 4.9-star average across 278 Google ratings _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=Meerkat%20Pest%20Control&query_place_id=ChIJR-uKvPDtSmURLsYHoJQ-_cQ) — “Google: 4.9★ from 278 ratings” - The company says it treats ticks, mosquitoes, crawling insects, carpenter ants, termites and stinging insects _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](https://www.meerkatpestcontrol.com) — “About (self-reported, verbatim): Meerkat Pest Control offers services for ticks & mosquitos, common crawling insects like lady bugs, stink b…” - Its website names Hartford, Torrington and Waterbury among the places it serves _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](https://www.meerkatpestcontrol.com) — “Stated service area (self-reported): York, Hudson, Springfield, Worcester, Boston, Bennington, Manchester, Dorset, Rutland, Middlebury, Hart…” - Removed a two-foot bald-faced hornet nest from a yard bush _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT2prelYxcHRiVGhYTlZZdGFXUlhURkkzZVhveWRWRRAB!2m1!1s0x0:0xc4fd3e94a007c62e!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOjkzV1ptbThXNVYtaWRXTFI3eXoydVE%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ I had a bald faced hornets nest in a bush in my yard.
