A recent Google customer who has hired Guy at least five times said he takes the time to ask the right questions to make sure the job is done properly. A recent customer wrote that Guy always has time to explain the health of the trees and bushes, and leaves the yard cleaner than he found it. One recent customer said he even saved a bird's nest with two eggs, and called the price very fair. In a 2025 review, a customer said Guy came to look at possible woolly aphid treatment, noticed a large evergreen rotted at the root ball and tipping over in high winds, and took the tree down right away. That 2025 customer said the tree was near the house, in an area not accessible by heavy equipment. A 2025 customer said Guy worked on 18 trees, each with its own issues. The work goes past trees. A 2025 customer with a third-of-an-acre lot in Hartford, CT, said Guy created a completely new design, removing everything and replanting the entire yard, and that he specializes in native plants. In a 2022 review, a customer said Meristem designed and xeriscaped their entire lot, removing over 4100 sq ft of Kentucky Blue Grass. The company carries 5-star averages on Google (41 ratings), Thumbtack (77) and Angi (16), and an A+ grade from the Better Business Bureau. A recent Thumbtack customer said the quote was fair, but they needed a stump removed and Guy could not help with that at the time. **Strengths:** - Repeat hiring — a recent customer has hired Guy at least five times - A clean yard — a recent customer said Guy leaves it cleaner than found - A tight-access removal — a 2025 customer described a rotted tree taken down near the house - A native-plant yard — a 2025 customer said he specializes in native plants **Concerns:** - Stump removal — a recent customer said he could not help with it then ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Founder and owner Guy Tuccero has a background in horticulture and plant sciences, according to the company's website _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](http://meristemtrees.com) — “About (self-reported, verbatim): Founder and owner of Meristem Tree Care and Plantscapes, Guy Tuccero, has a background in horticulture and …” - A recent customer has hired Guy at least five times _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT2xsTk4wdEVjVVZEV2tKV2ExUlZPREZQVG01aExXYxAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x799a99d2cee65ac7!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOllNN0tEcUVDWkJWa1RVODFPTm5hLWc%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ I’ve hired Guy at least five times now, and that alone should tell you everything.
