That kind of tenure shows up in the record: Houzz lists a Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License (#019909) for the business, and it's picked up real recognition along the way, including a Bird & Son "Pathfinder of the Year" award and coverage in Qualified Remodeler magazine. The written record is thin but consistent. Two Angi reviews, both from December 2018, describe the same thing from different angles: one calls Paul "very knowledgeable in construction," helpful with last-minute changes; the other, about a kitchen remodel, says the company was "upfront with the cost of the work" and "detailed with his proposal." Neither review raises a complaint. Metro's own services list spans full custom home building, additions, kitchen and bathroom remodels, porches, attics, and general contracting work — the profile of a company built to run a whole project from design through construction rather than specialize narrowly. Angi confirms they offer free estimates and warranty their work, though they don't offer emergency services. One thing worth flagging: the company's own site describes "38 years" of experience, while both Houzz and Angi independently put it at 47 years based on the 1979 start date — the site's figure looks out of date rather than contradicted, but it's worth confirming directly. For a homeowner planning a kitchen or bathroom remodel, an addition, or a full custom build in the Boston area, this is a long-established, single-owner operation with a verifiable license and a small but genuinely positive written record. With only two reviews on file, it's worth asking for references from more recent projects before committing to something this size. **Strengths:** - Established since 1979 — 47 years as a Greater Boston design-build firm - Award-winning reputation — Bird & Son Pathfinder of the Year, magazine coverage - Praised for expertise — 2018 reviews cite upfront pricing, detailed proposals **Where sources disagree:** - The company's own site describes 38 years of experience, while Houzz and Angi both independently put it at 47 years based on the 1979 founding date — likely a stale figure on the site, worth confirming. ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Houzz lists a Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License (#019909) for the company _(confidence: medium)_ - [Houzz](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/general-contractors/metropolitan-building-systems-pfvwus-pf~278006011) — “Licence listed on Houzz: Construction Supervisor License #019909” - Two December 2018 Angi reviews both praise the owner's expertise and transparent, detailed pricing _(confidence: high)_ - [Angi](https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/ma/dedham/metropolitan-building-systems-reviews-11702440.htm) — “4.5★ Paul is very knowledgeable in construction.
