## The honest read

Mike's Septic Service describes itself as a locally owned business doing septic, drain and plumbing work in Fairfield County and the surrounding areas, and its website says it has been in business 26 years.

A 2025 customer said they had used Mike's every 3 years since moving to Westport in 2009, and that Mike came to the house and got the septic emptying done. That same customer said it was hard to reach the company in late 2024 to set up the appointment, and put it down to difficulty finding competent office staff. A 2026 customer called them responsive and friendly.

In a 2022 review, a customer who had used them for years said that for a pipe problem they got a lot of promises, nobody showed up, and the company stopped calling back.

In a 2020 review, a customer said Mike had the lowest quote, the team cleaned up once done, and the problem was gone. A 2017 customer said Mike the owner called back the next day to fill them in on issues they didn't know they had with their system. In a 2017 review, a customer said the guys were on time and did a nice job putting the lawn back together.

**Strengths:**
- A restored lawn — a 2017 customer said the guys put it back together
- A low quote — a 2020 customer said Mike's quote was the lowest
- A next-day callback — a 2017 customer said Mike called about system issues
- Responsive service — a 2026 customer called them responsive and friendly

**Concerns:**
- Hard to reach — a 2025 customer struggled to book in late 2024
- A no-show — a 2022 customer said promised pipe work never happened
