Last 6 months: 5 reviews, 1 negative. ## The honest read One recent customer of Modern Concepts had a master-bath tub and shower replaced with a walk-in shower, a built-in teak chair and safety handles, along with new tile in the foyer, hall, kitchen floor and laundry room. That customer said Will and Justin did most of the work and that a patterned half-bath floor was matched to the surrounding tile. The company's website lists a service area running from Cranston and Providence to Warwick and East Greenwich, and says it has been in business 30 years. A recent Google reviewer had a kitchen refresh with new counter tops, backsplash and lighting, plus a full bathroom gut, and said the project was on budget and completed on time, with the work area organized and cleaned at the end of each day. A recent customer said a bathroom remodel was clearly laid out from start to finish and the work area was left clean after work every day. A recent customer said Michael and his team built a fence for their yard and called it affordable. A 2023 Houzz customer said Mike built new back stairs from scratch. A 2023 customer said the company worked with them to redesign their bathroom. A recent customer was unhappy with a basement project, saying the lighting still feels inadequate, the plan was not explained clearly and the crew's schedule was unreliable. A 2025 Houzz customer described a very poor experience with a kitchen reface and full bathroom remodel quoted at $85k. That 2025 customer said Mike asked to be paid earlier than the contract called for, rushed the bathroom floor and shower tiling, leaving a very uneven floor and missing grout, and then quit, saying he would not be back unless they paid an extra $13k up front. **Strengths:** - Walk-in shower — a recent customer had a tub replaced with one - Daily clean-up — a recent customer said the area was cleaned each day - On budget and time — a recent kitchen and bath customer said so - Tile matching — a recent customer praised a patterned half-bath floor **Concerns:** - Basement project — a recent customer said the plan was not explained clearly - Early payment requests — a 2025 customer said Mike asked to be paid early - Rushed tiling — a 2025 customer reported an uneven floor and missing grout - Job left unfinished — a 2025 customer said Mike quit mid-bathroom ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Website lists a service area from Cranston and Providence to Warwick and East Greenwich _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](https://www.modernconceptsri.com) — “Stated service area (self-reported): Cranston, Providence, Pawtucket, Johnston, Central Falls, Barrington, Cumberland, Lincoln, Smithfield, …” - Says it has been in business 30 years _(confidence: low)_ - [Official Website](https://www.modernconceptsri.com) — “Self-reported 30 years in business” - Replaced a master-bath tub and shower with a walk-in shower, teak chair and safety handles, and retiled several rooms for a recent customer _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT2tkYU0ybzVTVVpMVVZwZlJuaG1NR3RJTUhwSFZIYxAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x7ba8b98afd054e90!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOkdaM2o5SUZLUVpfRnhmMGtIMHpHVHc%7C%7C?hl=en) — “5★ My husband and I wanted to redo our kitchen and also hoped to have our master bath redone.
