## The honest read

Mr Hardwood refinishes hardwood floors and stairs, and the company says it has served the Hartford, Connecticut area for over 12 years. On Google it averages 4.9 stars across 90 ratings.

A recent customer said the team refinished their floors and also found another small issue with the floor and fixed it along with the refinishing job. A recent customer had existing floors sanded and coated plus an installation of engineered hardwood, and said Rob and his crew were very clean and respectful of the house. A recent customer said Rob did a really good job on their cottage hardwood floors.

A 2025 customer said Rob estimated three days for six rooms, two of which had the wall to wall ripped out, and the project was completed in two days. A 2025 customer who works as a Realtor wrote that another company's floor job left the poly lifting, and that they called Rob back to redo the whole house. A 2024 customer said it was difficult to find someone willing to sand and refinish the treads, risers and stringers of a staircase not refinished in over 50 years, and was glad to find Mr. Hardwood. A 2023 customer used the company to salvage a botched refinishing job begun by another company and said the team took extra care to fix the prior company's mistakes. The work is not only hardwood: a 2024 customer said Rob's job for them was tile.

A 2026 customer said a younger member of the crew had a bit of a foul mouth and was rude when he thought the customer was out of earshot, while the rest of the crew worked hard. That 2026 customer also said they had to argue over patching gaps in the floor with wood filler, about 20 extra minutes of work discussed when they first looked at the project; it was ultimately resolved.

Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0622301, as active, held by Mr Hardwood LLC.

**Strengths:**
