## The honest read

Mr. Resurface LLC is a Wolcott refinishing business that homeowners call when a tub, shower or tile surround looks worn out but replacing it seems like too much money and mess. The company says it has been in business 20 years, and it holds an active Connecticut home improvement registration, HIC.0613970, in the name Mr Resurface LLC. Google shows 5 stars from 139 ratings and Angi 4.9 from 97.

The name that comes up in review after review is Ernest. In an April 2026 Google review, a homeowner who expected to replace a stained, chipped tub said Ernest arrived on time, prepped and protected the area, and left a tub that looked brand new at a fraction of the cost. A November 2025 reviewer had an old cast iron tub resurfaced and called the price reasonable. Customers describe a simple process: in a December 2025 review, a homeowner got a quote by texting photos of the tub, and a 2021 reviewer had a quote within minutes for a 35-year-old fiberglass shower stall that was finished in a few hours.

Several customers wrote about return visits after a finish problem. In an October 2025 review, Ernest came back to fix a minor peeling spot, and a January 2025 reviewer said he corrected chipping and peeling at no charge every time. A 2021 Angi reviewer said a defect was repaired under the warranty, though the fumes took a day or two to clear. One 2019 Angi review was negative: the customer said caulking was done without asking, left with bumps and ridges, and that Ernest then quoted an extra $95 to fix it. Another 2019 reviewer mentioned a scheduling mixup that put him a few hours late.

The work goes beyond tubs: a 2023 Angi customer had kitchen countertops and a backsplash resurfaced, and a December 2023 reviewer had an antique pedestal sink refinished.

**Strengths:**
- Tub reglazing — reviewers describe old tubs that look brand new
- Fast quotes — customers texted photos and got a price quickly
- Return visits — 2025 reviews describe peeling fixed after the job

**Concerns:**
- Finish durability — 2025 reviews mention peeling and chipping that needed repair
- Caulking dispute — one 2019 Angi review cites a $95 fix charge
