## The honest read

Ned Stevens Gutter Cleaning holds a 4.6-star Google rating from 825 ratings. Its website lists gutter cleaning, installation, replacement and repair alongside pest control services, and the company says it has been in business 61 years.

A recent customer said Ryan got them on the schedule for the next day, and a two-man crew led by Emanuel flushed out gutters and downspouts on a house with gutters three stories high. A recent customer with a hundred-year-old house said a new gutter with downspouts was put up on a side that never had one, after water got into the basement, and it held up in a downpour. A recent customer who booked roof washing and gutter cleaning said they were told washing the roof would do more damage than good because of its condition. A recent customer said a dryer vent cleaning left the dryer drying twice as fast, and a recent customer said power washing left the house looking like when the siding was first installed.

Roof cleaning went badly for one recent customer, who said they paid a deposit, the company made excuses and asked for more money, and they cancelled all services. A recent customer said a booked roof cleaning was put off for a couple of months before they cancelled, and they were waiting to get the deposit back. A recent customer said the service was fine but described almost daily robo-calls two years after one job.

A 2025 customer said they got the runaround with scheduling on a gutter cleaning and requested a refund after 7 weeks. A 2025 customer said debris flushed down a downspout clogged the drain line into the basement, and debris left in the yard killed parts of the lawn. A 2025 customer said a gutter install took months, scrap metal and nails were left in the yard, and the gutters were left off pitch.

A 2023 customer said a detached gutter was reattached and the other gutters were cleaned, checked and reinforced at a reasonable cost.

**Strengths:**
- Three-story gutter cleaning — a recent customer said a two-man crew handled it
- A new gutter run — a recent customer said it worked through a downpour
- Dryer vent cleaning — a recent customer said the dryer now dries twice as fast
- An honest roof call — a recent customer was told washing would do more harm than good

**Concerns:**
- A roof cleaning deposit — a recent customer said the job never happened
- Sales robo-calls — a recent customer still gets them almost daily two years later
- A clogged basement drain — a 2025 customer blamed debris flushed down a downspout
- A delayed gutter install — a 2025 customer said it took months and left nails
