--- title: "Nest Fence & Masonry" description: "Heavy rain was coming, so Ernest and his crew put a family's whole fence in the same day rather than leave post holes open overnight — that is how an Augus" doc_version: "2026-10-19" last_updated: "2026-10-19" --- # Nest Fence & Masonry **Trade:** Fencing · **Phone:** (475) 559-4497 · **Website:** https://www.nestfence.com/ · **Languages:** English **Rating: 4.6/5** (high confidence) — from 43 reviews across 8 sources. 93% of sentiment-scored reviews read net-positive. Last 6 months: 22 reviews, 1 negative. ## The honest read Heavy rain was coming, so Ernest and his crew put a family's whole fence in the same day rather than leave post holes open overnight — that is how an August 2026 Google reviewer with young children described Nest Fence & Masonry. Ernest, whom reviewers call the owner, is named in more than a dozen reviews of this fence and stone company; it holds 4.9 stars across 36 Google ratings and 4.9 across 13 on Thumbtack, and says it has seven years in business. Fences are the main work: white vinyl privacy fences, a 4-foot scalloped PVC fence, a fence on a large sloped yard (October 2026), and a repair at a Montessori preschool (May 2026). Several 2026 customers mention dogs or children and a fenced yard. The August 2026 reviewer said Ernest came back several times to adjust the plan for an extra gate and the neighbors' needs. A July 2026 customer who shopped around said the job took two days and came in at the best rate. In a June 2025 review, a homeowner said the crew used the dirt dug up to level the back of the yard. The masonry side shows up too. A May 2026 customer hired the company for a retaining wall rehab, concrete removal and a new walkway and stairs, then rehired it for a fence; a June 2026 review describes a walkway, patio and retaining wall, and an April 2026 reviewer had front brick steps redone. Not every contact went well. In a June 2026 three-star review, a customer said the company came out promptly but could not give a quote and seemed to struggle to find the right material. In September 2025, a Thumbtack reviewer wrote that he never showed up on the promised afternoon and did not call or text; another that day asked for better communication. Its Connecticut home improvement registration, HIC.0701800, is active, held by Nest Fence & Masonry LLC. The company says it offers free estimates and 24/7 emergency service and is insured, and lists a service area from Waterbury and Cheshire to West Hartford and Middletown. **Strengths:** - Fence installs — 2025–2026 reviews describe vinyl and PVC fences - Weather planning — August 2026 crew finished before heavy rain - Masonry work — 2026 reviews cite walls, walkways and steps - Flexible plans — reviewers say Ernest re-quoted when plans changed **Concerns:** - Quote follow-through — a June 2026 customer never received a quote - Missed appointment — a 2025 Thumbtack reviewer says no one showed ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Holds an active Connecticut home improvement registration, HIC.0701800, under Nest Fence & Masonry LLC _(confidence: high)_ - [State License Registry](https://www.elicense.ct.gov/Lookup/LicenseLookup.aspx) — “CT hic license HIC.0701800 registry-verified active — registry holder of record: NEST FENCE & MASONRY LLC” - 4.9 stars on Google from 36 ratings, 4.9 on Thumbtack from 13 and 5.0 on Angi from 3 _(confidence: high)_ - [Thumbtack](https://www.thumbtack.com/ct/waterbury/fences/nest-fencemasonry-llc/service/546205103327141893?spotlightWebMarkupEnabled=1) — “Thumbtack: 4.9★ from 13 ratings” - [Angi](https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/ct/waterbury/nest-fence-masonry-llc-reviews-1.htm) — “Angi: 5.0★ from 3 ratings” - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=Nest%20Fence%20%26%20Masonry&query_place_id=ChIJ10rMRE7u0m0R0ST6UGvoFsI) — “Google: 4.9★ from 36 ratings” - An August 2026 review says the crew finished a fence in one day ahead of heavy rain and Ernest adjusted the plan for an extra gate _(confidence: medium)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT21sc2JsRnVTMEk1WVdGUFoxVmhWSEkxYW14UlRVRRAB!2m1!1s0x0:0xc216e86b50fa24d1!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOmlsblFuS0I5YWFPZ1VhVHI1amxRTUE%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ To say I am pleased with the work that Ernest at Nest did would be an understatement.
