## The honest read

New England Gas Systems is a Danvers company the family behind it says has run since 1988, working plumbing, gas fitting, heating, and pool heating jobs around the North Shore.

The reviews line up behind one name particularly often: Chris. In a January 2026 review, a customer said Chris repaired an old propane stove's starting switch and pilot, calling the work quick and clean; another January 2026 review described him arriving three hours after an 8 a.m. no-heat call on a cold day and fixing it quickly, the second good experience that customer had had with the company. In a December 2025 review, a customer with a no-heat situation from a faulty gas valve said Chris tracked down the part and rebuilt the entire gas burner unit by hand until the boiler ran at peak efficiency again.

The written record goes back further than that. A 2024 review described a much bigger job — pulling an oil tank and boiler and putting in a high-efficiency propane system plus a relocated water tank — after getting three competing bids; the company wasn't the cheapest but got picked anyway and, in the reviewer's words, didn't disappoint. Another 2024 account said the company answered a Sunday-morning no-heat call within the hour when other self-described "24/7" companies wouldn't, then had a tech at the house working out a Monday repair plan once the part it needed came in.
