## The honest read

Newtown Arbor Services says it can remove any size tree, using cranes, bucket loaders and chippers, and reports 40 years in business. It lists a service area of Newtown, Bethel, Brookfield, Southbury, Danbury, New Milford, Redding, Torrington and Kent.

A customer said they called Miles in the evening, he was at the house 15 minutes later, and he returned the next morning to clean up a huge limb that fell across the driveway. A customer writing after a major storm said a crane was needed to remove several large trees near the house and around power lines, and that every branch and log was removed with minimal impact to the yard.

A 2026 customer said the company brought its crane to take down large trees over the house and placed everything into the chipper or onto the log truck. A 2025 customer said Miles and the crew took down 4 large maples in a tight spot in only a few hours, leaving the work area clean. A 2024 customer said Miles assessed the trees, and he and the team took down a very tall hickory right in front of the porch. In a 2022 review, a customer said Alan Potter's equipment allowed 2 dead ash, tall pines and dead spruce to be removed and chipped, and black walnuts and 100-foot maples to be pruned.

A 2023 customer who asked to keep the wood for firewood said a few uncut pieces of the tree were also left, and that after three months of calls the company never showed to move them. A 2024 reviewer said they called 3 times, left a message and never got a call back.

**Strengths:**
- Quick evening response — a customer said Miles arrived 15 minutes after calling
- Crane tree removal — a 2026 customer said nothing was dropped
- Clean work area — a 2025 customer said the area was left clean

**Concerns:**
- Unreturned calls — a 2024 reviewer called 3 times without a callback
- Leftover tree pieces — a 2023 customer said uncut pieces stayed after months of calls
