A 2025 r/Connecticut commenter pointed people to Northeast Oil & Propane in Danielson and said its rates were really good. Trade press has described it as one of the brand names of a group run from three office locations and two bulk storage facilities. On Google it holds 3.4 stars from 132 ratings, and its BBB grade is A+. A 2026 customer said they had not checked their oil level before a snowstorm and called after business hours; Scott coordinated a same-night delivery and Rob came over and filled them up. A 2025 customer said that in an emergency the company was out within the hour and filled them up. A 2023 customer said their tank regulator vent froze on a frigid winter day, and the company came out the same day and replaced the tank top regulator in maybe 15 minutes. A 2025 customer thanked Dave and Neil for a service call in Ashford, where they ran a gas line so it would look aesthetically pleasing and set up an appointment to have a furnace serviced. A recent one-star reviewer, a customer for 13 years, says no one calls back and the company is no longer locally owned. A 2025 customer of 17 years said that for nearly a week no one answered the phone or returned messages while they were running low on fuel. A recent customer who switched to Suburban Propane says their tank ran completely out many times on automatic refills over five years, and that three different people looked at the furnace without finding a faulty thermostat. A 2026 customer said a propane delivery promised by the end of the week arrived the following Wednesday, at a price higher than the one quoted. **Strengths:** - Same-night oil delivery — a 2026 customer said Scott and Rob filled them up after hours - A frozen regulator fix — a 2023 customer said it was replaced the same day - An emergency fill — a 2025 customer said they came within the hour **Concerns:** - Unanswered phones — a 2025 customer said no one answered for nearly a week - Missed call-backs — a recent customer of 13 years says no one calls back - Price above quote — a 2026 customer was charged more than the quoted price - A missed thermostat fault — a recent customer says three people missed it ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Advertises oil and propane for the home and says it has been in business 50 years _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](https://nepropane.com) — “About (self-reported, verbatim): Fuel for your Home Expand: Fuel for your Home Fuel for your Home Propane for your Home Oil for your Home Sw…” - [Official Website](https://nepropane.com) — “Self-reported 50 years in business” - Described in trade press as one brand of a group operating from three offices and two bulk storage facilities _(confidence: medium)_ - [Local News](https://www.lpgasmagazine.com/dcc-propane-enters-northeastern-market/) — “lpgasmagazine.com — The company operates under the brand names Saveway Petroleum , Northeast Oil & Propane , Uncas Gas and Buy-Rite Fuel fro…” - [Local News](https://bpnews.com/dcc-propane-acquires-nes-group/) — “bpnews.com — The company operates under the brand names Saveway Petroleum, Northeast Oil & Propane, Uncas Gas, and Buy-Rite Fuel from three …” - Google rating of 3.4 stars from 132 ratings; BBB grade A+ _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=Northeast%20Oil%20%26%20Propane&query_place_id=ChIJN2nH-k8p5IkRF3ZA3AYXsRs) — “Google: 3.4★ from 132 ratings” - [Better Business Bureau](https://www.bbb.org/us/ct/danielson/profile/fuel-oil/northeast-oil-and-propane-0261-212157) — “Better Business Bureau grade: A+” - A 2026 customer said Scott and Rob arranged a same-night oil delivery after business hours _(confidence: medium)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT2toQ2R6TlNiV3BHTVhWSmExY3hWVTFNUkZWVE0xRRAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x1bb11706dc407617!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOkhCdzNSbWpGMXVJa1cxVU1MRFVTM1E%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ Scott and Rob went above and beyond in every sense of the word.
