On its Angi profile the company describes itself as a family-owned Maine HVAC company working across Central and Southern Maine, with heat pumps, boiler service, water heaters and HVAC repairs as its focus. A Thumbtack customer said the owner, Josh Cutting, installed a replacement boiler after earlier installing and maintaining heat pumps for them. On HomeAdvisor, a customer said Josh came out the next day to clean and fix their heat pump and that the price was good. A HomeAdvisor customer said Josh and his team installed their heat pump and took time to explain how to use the Samsung. The work goes beyond heat pumps. A HomeAdvisor customer said Josh installed a new water heater, gave instructions on its use and maintenance, and has serviced it since. On Thumbtack, a customer with a mini split issue said Josh listened carefully on the phone and spent a lot of time testing to make sure the issue was fixed. A Google customer said scheduling was easy, the arrival was exactly on time, and a notification gave a 15-minute heads-up first. **Strengths:** - Heat pump service — a customer said Josh cleaned and fixed theirs next day - Boiler replacement — the owner installed one and kept the customer informed - On-time arrival — a notification gave one customer a 15-minute heads-up - Water heater install — installed, explained, and serviced since, one customer said ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - 5-star Google rating from 15 ratings _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=Northwoods%20HVAC&query_place_id=ChIJX23YISRDskwRGSHv_9r0HMY) — “Google: 5★ from 15 ratings” - Describes itself as a family-owned Maine HVAC company serving Central and Southern Maine _(confidence: medium)_ - [Angi](https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/me/poland/northwoods-hvac-reviews-162694992.htm) — “About (Angi, self-described): Northwoods HVAC is a family-owned Maine HVAC company providing honest, reliable heating and cooling services t…” - A customer said owner Josh Cutting installed a replacement boiler and earlier installed and maintained heat pumps _(confidence: high)_ - [Thumbtack](https://www.thumbtack.com/me/poland/central-air-conditioning-repair/northwoods-hvac/service/581289510912262153?spotlightWebMarkupEnabled=1) — “5★ It is with appreciation that I highly recommend Northwoods HVAC.
