## The honest read

NU-YAR Construction describes itself on its website as a family-owned, full-service residential construction firm. A local paper has quoted co-owner Michelle Neujahr of Nu-Yar Construction in Gray on the rise in calls she gets about accessory dwelling units.

A 2025 customer said NU-YAR added a second story above their garage in Cape Elizabeth. That 2025 customer wrote that they were never left wondering how the budget was tracking, and that when bumps came up, they showed up right away and worked with the family to find solutions.

A 2024 reviewer said NuYar rebuilt an addition on a family's 1840 farmhouse after a fire, and named carpenter Don Lippoth for his attention to detail. That 2024 reviewer also wrote that Don came up with ideas to help them stay within budget.

A 2024 customer described a kitchen and downstairs bathroom remodel on an 1874 house. That 2024 customer said unforeseen items had to be added to the list of repairs on the 150-year-old house, and that NuYar was flexible about small add-ons during construction.

A 2023 customer said NU-YAR completed an addition to their house and wrote of being happy with a new kitchen and mudroom. A 2023 reviewer of a house renovation said NU-YAR maintained relationships with subcontractors to help keep things on schedule.

**Strengths:**
- Second-story addition — a 2025 customer said they built one above a garage
- Budget communication — a 2025 customer never wondered how the budget was tracking
- Farmhouse addition rebuild — a 2024 reviewer described one after a fire
- Old-house kitchen remodel — a 2024 customer described one on an 1874 house
