## The honest read

Oak House Hardwood Floors has a 5-star Google rating from 52 ratings, and its website says it specializes in hardwood floor refinishing and is located in South Portland, Maine. The company describes itself as a family-owned and operated business.

One recent Google customer had old wide plank white pine floors that the previous owners had stained very dark. Rather than rip them out, the customer had Oak House resurface them, and said the quote was what they paid, with no surprise up-charge. On another recent job, Kevin and his team took on stairs the customer called a mess, and the customer said they communicated well throughout. A recent customer said Oak House installed their upstairs flooring and refinished the kitchen and living room floors downstairs. A recent customer wrote that this was their second refinish with Oak House, described it as a family business with Kevin, his father and his brother, and said the floors were stained to match another room.

In a 2025 Angi review, a customer said Kevin and his father installed their LVP, a $4,700 job with materials the customer provided. A 2025 customer said Kevin and his father refinished all the wood floors in the house, arrived when promised, kept in touch while the work was being done and cleaned up after they finished. A 2025 customer said Oak House installed new pine floors and refinished existing ones that had been worn and scratched, and that the job was completed promptly. A 2025 customer said Kevin and his dad brought their 86-year-old oak floors back and that they wanted them to come back to finish a few other rooms.

Its Angi profile shows 5.0 stars from 7 ratings, and the Better Business Bureau grades it A.

**Strengths:**
- Quote held firm — a recent customer paid the quoted price, no surprise up-charge
- A returning customer — a recent customer hired them for a second refinish
- Arrived when promised — a 2025 customer said so, and they cleaned up after
