## The honest read

Olde Window Restorers, of Warner, restores old wooden windows and builds wooden storm windows. Local news sites have described its window restoration work.

A 2022 customer had all of the original wooden windows restored in a 100-year-old house, windows that had been impossible to open or held open with a stick. That 2022 customer said Alden and the team cleaned up well after each visit and were easy to reach with questions. A 2022 customer said the company crafted custom wooden storm windows for a 1790 home, replacing 30-year-old aluminum storms, and that a couple of crooked windows needed custom measuring a few times. That 2022 customer said Alden knows old windows and advised expecting long lead times.

A 2025 reviewer said Dave built about 35 custom storm windows in 2016 from measurements the reviewer supplied and sent them to the reviewer's home in Madison, Wisconsin.

A 2023 customer who had sashes repaired and new storms made said a bill for an additional $3,400 came when the work was completed, and that Dave said the quote did not cover the sash work. That 2023 customer called the quality good but said it could have been better, described the restored glass as hard to see through, and advised getting things spelled out up front.
