## The honest read

Born to Move is a moving company whose website lists local and long-distance moves, packing, storage, piano, appliance and art and antique moving. The company says it has been in business 10 years, and its stated service area names Boston, Newton, Cambridge, Brookline, Somerville, Connecticut and Chicago. On Google it holds a 4.9-star rating from 313 ratings.

A recent customer who moved from Boston to Providence said the movers were punctual, careful with their things and professional.

A customer who moved locally in RI said the movers arrived over an hour late because they were coming from East Boston, took frequent breaks on their phones, and that the move ended up costing almost $500 more than the estimate. A customer who needed overnight storage said the company showed up with a truck that was too small and raised the quote by roughly $5,000 with additional charges and add-ons; that customer told them to leave the property. A customer wrote that the quote tripled when the movers got to their home on moving day, and that they too told the company to leave. A customer said the company showed up unprepared and left them scrambling for another solution on moving day.

The customer whose quote rose by roughly $5,000 cautioned anyone considering the company to confirm every detail, storage requirement, truck size and possible additional charge in writing before moving day.

**Strengths:**
- A punctual, careful move — a recent Boston-to-Providence customer said so

**Concerns:**
- A $5,000 quote increase — a customer said charges were added on moving day
- A tripled quote — a customer said the price tripled on arrival
- A late arrival — a local RI customer said movers came over an hour late
- Unprepared on moving day — a customer said they were left scrambling
