A ctpost.com article has described Chris Palmer as the owner of Outdoor Design, a Fairfield landscaping firm, opening a Fairfield store for outdoor kitchens, fire pits, pergolas, furniture and lighting. A 2018 Houzz customer said the company expanded their stone patio, added an outdoor kitchen, an eating area and new stone stairs, then added more square footage and an outdoor fireplace the following year. A 2016 customer wrote that Chris and his crew demolished a crumbling brick patio and built the new one from the footings up. A 2016 customer described retaining walls, stairs, stone walls, a fire pit and landscaping around a new inground pool. A 2025 customer said the company had created their seasonal planters for three years. A 2026 customer said they spent over $16,000 on a redesign that replaced evergreen beds and a seven-foot holly with deciduous plants, and that several evergreens were left bare-rooted in the driveway until they questioned it. A 2025 customer of over 20 years said a spring clean-up estimate request went unanswered and Greg never showed for a confirmed August meeting. A 2025 customer said many plants died a year and 8 months after a planting and the nursery would not guarantee more than a year. A 2024 customer said the designer, Dave, missed 4 scheduled appointments, a design promised in two weeks took two months, and a 50% restocking fee was not waived. A 2024 customer said their mother was sold the wrong $132 shrub and the business refused to exchange it. **Strengths:** - A patio rebuild — a 2016 customer said it was built from the footings up - An outdoor kitchen build — a 2018 customer described kitchen, stairs and fireplace - Seasonal planters — a 2025 customer said three years of planters **Concerns:** - A missed meeting — a 2025 customer said Greg never showed - A restocking fee — a 2024 customer said a 50% fee was not waived - Plant guarantee — a 2025 customer said it covers no more than a year - A costly redesign — a 2026 customer questioned evergreens replaced with deciduous plants ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - A ctpost.com article describes Chris Palmer as owner of Outdoor Design, a Fairfield landscaping firm _(confidence: medium)_ - [Local News](https://www.ctpost.com/news/article/fairfield-store-brings-the-kitchen-outdoors-5458648.php) — “ctpost.com — Chris Palmer, owner of Outdoor Design, a Fairfield landscaping firm, has launched Outdoor Design & Living, a Fairfield store fo…” - 4.1 stars from 21 Google ratings and 4.9 stars from 13 Houzz ratings _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=Outdoor%20Design%20%26%20Living&query_place_id=ChIJk2ZRnQcQ6IkRkGmhy3pH7Xk) — “Google: 4.1★ from 21 ratings” - [Houzz](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/landscape-architects-and-landscape-designers/outdoor-design-and-living-pfvwus-pf~881521041) — “Houzz: 4.9★ from 13 ratings” - A 2018 customer described a stone patio expansion, outdoor kitchen, stone stairs and outdoor fireplace _(confidence: high)_ - [Houzz](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/landscape-architects-and-landscape-designers/outdoor-design-and-living-pfvwus-pf~881521041) — “5★ Chris came out to look at our existing patio, and made excellent suggestions for how to improve it to make the ultimate outdoor living sp…” - A 2016 customer said a crumbling brick patio was demolished and rebuilt from the footings up _(confidence: high)_ - [Houzz](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/landscape-architects-and-landscape-designers/outdoor-design-and-living-pfvwus-pf~881521041) — “5★ We replaced an existing semi circular brick patio that was crumbling.
