## The honest read

Packard's Kitchens is a by-appointment design showroom in Burlington, not a hands-on installer — Mary Packard and designer Donna Meyer help homeowners pick cabinetry, countertops and hardware, then hand the installation itself off to a referred contractor. Mary opened the business in 1996 after a decade designing and selling cabinets elsewhere, and BBB records put the company at roughly 30 years in business with four employees.

The written reviews are few but consistent. In a March 2024 review, a customer who'd used Packard's for a first remodel 25 years earlier described Mary and her staff as pleasant and accommodating, working to a budget rather than upselling. A May 2024 review credited designer Donna with helping turn a vague idea into a workable layout and material plan. And in a 2016 review, a customer said Mary listened closely and designed a kitchen that made the most of a tight space while staying on budget — a theme that repeats across all three accounts on file. The company has also held NKBA certification for more than 16 years.

Worth knowing: there are only three written reviews across the platforms tracked here, spanning 2016 to 2024, so there isn't much volume to draw on — and because Packard's designs and sells rather than installs, a separate contractor's track record matters just as much for how the finished kitchen turns out.

For the design and cabinetry side of a kitchen or bath project, the small handful of reviews are consistently positive about budget-consciousness and attentive listening — just plan on lining up your own installer.

**Strengths:**
- Budget-conscious design — reviewers cite working within budget, not upselling
- Attentive listening — reviewers credit designers for understanding the vision
- Long tenure — Mary Packard opened the showroom in 1996
- NKBA certified — more than 16 years of membership

**Concerns:**
- Design only — refers customers to contractors for installation
- Few written reviews — just three on file since 2016
