## The honest read

Palmer and Sicard, Inc. describes itself as a mechanical contractor serving Northern New England since 1954, doing HVAC installation and service, plumbing, sheet metal, piping and design-build mechanical systems. Its website also lists 24/7 emergency service.

Its New Hampshire mechanical business licence, MBE0004497, is active on the state registry. Its Massachusetts hvac licence, 10-SM-B, is also active on the state registry. On Google it holds 3.7 stars from 21 ratings, and its BBB grade is A+.

In a recent Google review, a customer said Palmer & Sicard came to repair an A/C unit struck by lightning, ordered parts, and still charged for the repair after the technician said it did not work. That customer wrote that the company quoted over 16k for a new unit, putting the total bill over 18k, and refused to write the appeal State Farm offered to review.

A 2025 customer said the company came out, said nothing was wrong and billed for the visit, then billed again for a second visit at the same rate. That 2025 customer wrote that when they disputed the charges, the account was sent to collections. A 2025 reviewer said the company sounded bored when their office called for help, and a 2023 customer said they never called back.

A 2022 customer credited Adam with help on a custom project and praised the fast turnaround and communication. A 2023 reviewer called the company reliable.

**Strengths:**
- Active state licences — New Hampshire and Massachusetts licences active on the registry
- A custom project — a 2022 customer praised Adam's fast turnaround

**Concerns:**
- A/C repair charge — a recent customer was billed for a repair that failed
- A billing dispute — a 2025 customer said the account went to collections
- A missed callback — a 2023 customer said they never called back
