## The honest read

Papa T's Handyman Services is a Monroe handyman business whose reviews all come from 2017 to 2020; the person the reviews name is John, given in full in one 2017 review as John Taylor. It shows 4.4 stars from 21 ratings on HomeAdvisor and on Angi.

The early reviews describe small jobs done promptly at fair prices. In a 2017 review, a customer said John reinforced cabinets, installed molding, repaired holes in the walls and modified a piece of furniture. Another 2017 customer had three window screens replaced, a pet screen put on a back porch and some supports replaced at a very fair price. A December 2017 reviewer said he came the same day and fixed a stove, and a July 2018 customer said he installed two air conditioners and did a number of small jobs at a very reasonable price.

The later reviews are harsher. In a September 2020 review of a $3,300 porch screen and siding job, a returning customer said trim was left not flush with the siding, nails missed the sill, the porch was not caulked or cleaned up, and the visit to fix it ended in a heated discussion with John saying not to call again. A 2018 reviewer who was first very pleased added an update dated 7/17/2019 saying John stalled over a month on a decking addition, charged $660 to remove a pool, then said the addition could not be done to code. In an April 2017 review, a customer with a rental home said John did a quick fix on a bathroom exhaust fan, then said he could not come back to finish because of a 4-star review.

Its Connecticut home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0647270, is active, held by Papa T's Handyman Services LLC.

**Strengths:**
- Small repairs — 2017 and 2018 reviews describe quick, fairly priced jobs
- Same-day stove fix — a December 2017 customer

**Concerns:**
- Porch job dispute — a 2020 review cites uneven trim and missed nails
- Unfinished work — 2017 and 2019 reviews say John did not return
