## The honest read

Replacement cedar shingles on one exterior wall, finished in a day with the ground below it protected: that is how a recent customer described Persson Construction's work. The company describes itself as a Bourne, Massachusetts family-owned exterior contractor installing siding, replacement windows, exterior doors and roofing on the Upper Cape and across Cape Cod. Its site says it has been in business on Cape Cod for over 40 years, founded by Kent (Ken) Persson, with his son Patrick working in the business. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, number 173732, is active on the state registry. On Google it holds 4.8 stars from 31 ratings.

A recent customer said Kent and his son sided their cottage and cleaned up everything after the job was done. A recent customer listed exterior wall repair, window replacement, door installation, new Hardie plank siding and trim, and a roof installation, and said the work was on time.

A 2025 customer who had a full facelift done on the home, roof included, said the job was completed well within the timeframe Kent explained and that the cost was reasonable compared with other companies. A 2025 customer in Falmouth said they had to replace all the windows in a newly purchased house, and that the work was done on time and the site was left clean each day. A 2025 customer said that when the frost white shingle color they picked became unavailable, Kent upgraded the shingles to a higher grade at a modest increase in price, and that his heavy-duty trailer collected the discarded materials in place of a dumpster. A 2025 customer said the team installed a roof vent and replaced rotted trim with Azek trim at no additional cost. A 2025 customer said the company replaced the roof, installed a new cupola and replaced cedar shingle siding.

In a 2017 review, a customer said a new roof was finished in a single day and the gutters were cleaned while the crew was up there. In a 2017 review, a customer said the crew started the roof ahead of schedule, and that Kent and Pat later responded quickly when raccoons damaged the roof. In a 2012 review, a customer said the job covered siding the gable ends and a dormer as well as the roof, with some extra sidewall work done without renegotiating the price.

A 2023 customer gave one star, saying the company did a horrible job on their roof and was very disrespectful.

**Strengths:**
- A one-day siding repair — a recent customer said they were in and out in a day
- A cottage siding job — a recent customer said everything was cleaned up after
- A Falmouth window job — a 2025 customer said the site was left clean daily
- A shingle upgrade — a 2025 customer said Kent upgraded at a modest price increase

**Concerns:**
- A roof complaint — a 2023 customer called the roof job horrible and very disrespectful
