Last 6 months: 2 reviews, 0 negative. ## The honest read One recent job at Polke Painting & Remodeling LLC began as an outside paint job and grew into popcorn ceilings removed, baseboards and a front door replaced, and almost all of the interior repainted. The company says it has been in business 40 years and lists Southbury, New Haven, Fairfield and Litchfield as its service area. On Google it holds 4.6 stars from 51 ratings. Painting is the steady work. A 2024 customer said the company recovered kitchen cabinets from the wrong paint a previous owner had used, with removable parts taken to a shop for spraying. A 2025 customer said their 51-year-old kitchen cabinets were painted, and that Mr Polke gave a reasonable price and worked around their schedule. Color choice is part of the job: a 2025 customer said Pam helped choose colors for the cabinets, walls, flooring and trim. A 2023 customer said Greg, the owner, returned the call for an estimate the very next day. The remodeling side reaches whole rooms. A 2024 customer said Greg and crew worked 16 straight days to finish remodeling two bathrooms, with Pam serving as design consultant. A 2025 customer said the company rebuilt a bathroom and kitchen after a flood and worked with the insurance company. A 2022 customer described a bathroom renovation that involved removing an old cast iron bathtub on a second floor, along with tile, shiplap and molding. A 2025 customer said paint started peeling off the house three months after the whole house was painted, and that calls brought promises to stop by that were never kept. A 2022 customer said the company damaged a cook top, acknowledged it, said it would make good on it, and never answered their call again. Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0544312, as active, held by Gregory Polke. **Strengths:** - Color selection help — Pam helped a 2025 customer choose cabinet and wall colors - Cabinet repainting — a 2024 customer said damaged cabinets came out like new - Two-bathroom remodel — a 2024 customer said it took 16 straight days - Flood rebuild — a 2025 customer said they worked with the insurance company **Concerns:** - Peeling exterior paint — a 2025 customer said it peeled after three months - Damaged cook top — a 2022 customer said their call was never answered again ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - 4.6 stars from 51 Google ratings _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=Polke%20Painting%20%26%20Remodeling%20LLC&query_place_id=ChIJq6qqqhrG54kRbEk2cyZ1iI0) — “Google: 4.6★ from 51 ratings” - The company says it has been in business 40 years _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](https://www.polkepainting.com) — “Self-reported 40 years in business” - Lists Southbury, New Haven, Fairfield and Litchfield as its service area _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](https://www.polkepainting.com) — “Stated service area (self-reported): Southbury, New Haven, Fairfield, Litchfield” - A recent customer said an exterior paint job grew into popcorn ceiling removal, new baseboards, a new front door and interior repainting _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT25SNmNTMXNaVUZMZWpOSllrWlpWa295VjBwa2RHYxAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x8d8875267336496c!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOnR6cS1sZUFLejNJYkZZVkoyV0pkdGc%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ We had a wonderful experience working with Polke painting!
