Google shows 4.4★ from 31 ratings, Houzz shows 3.9 from 7, and the Better Business Bureau grades it A+. The praise is for stonework and pools. In an August 2025 Google review, a customer listed what they saw on their driveway: careful setting of grades along its length, precision leveling across the cobblestone and brick interface, herringbone brick aligned end-to-end, and the adjacent landscaping reinstated with top soil, reseeding, mulch and sprinklers. A June 2025 customer praised a Unilock walkway and patio. In a 2016 Houzz review, a customer said their pool was installed in 3 days, passed inspections with no issues, and that Elvio came back to help with fencing and referrals. A November 2020 customer said the team transformed an old wooden deck that was falling apart and rebuilt a sagging retaining wall. The complaints are about how jobs were handled. In an August 2025 Google review, a customer who had their pool resurfaced said they were lied to about the timeline, the finished job has tile irregularities and discolored pebble tec, their once-level stairs are now a safety hazard, and Elvio and one of his sons spoke to them like a vile animal when they asked questions. A July 2016 Houzz customer said they were over billed by thousands of dollars until missing payments were found, debris including sharp materials was left in the yard for three weeks, the pool filter was installed through the sprinkler system, and the pool had not passed inspection. An April 2025 Google reviewer described a rude exchange with Elvio over a Craigslist listing whose delivery offer he withdrew. **Strengths:** - Precise brickwork — 2025 customer described a carefully leveled herringbone driveway - Quick pool installs — a 2016 pool went in within 3 days **Concerns:** - Pool resurfacing dispute — 2025 customer reports defects and hazardous stairs - Billing and cleanup — 2016 customer describes over-billing and debris - Communication — 2025 customers describe rude exchanges with Elvio ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - 4.4★ from 31 Google ratings; 3.9 from 7 on Houzz; BBB grade A+ _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=Pools%20and%20Patios%20by%20Elvio%20and%20Sons&query_place_id=ChIJKdroIyZG5IkRuWjaJlFwe8o) — “Google: 4.4★ from 31 ratings” - [Houzz](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/stone-pavers-and-concrete/elvio-and-sons-pfvwus-pf~59553390) — “Houzz: 3.9★ from 7 ratings” - [Better Business Bureau](https://www.bbb.org/us/ri/providence/profile/general-contractor/elvio-and-sons-construction-llc-0021-143593) — “Better Business Bureau grade: A+” - Describes itself as established in 1990 _(confidence: medium)_ - [Houzz](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/stone-pavers-and-concrete/elvio-and-sons-pfvwus-pf~59553390) — “About (Houzz profile, the business's own statement): Elvio and Sons Construction, a firm established in 1990, specializes in designing and i…” - An August 2025 customer described a precisely laid herringbone brick and cobblestone driveway _(confidence: medium)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT2pSZmFsRkZVbDlhWVdFNFduWm9Wa0pxWVRRM2RsRRAB!2m1!1s0x0:0xca7b705126da68b9!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOjRfalFFUl9aYWE4WnZoVkJqYTQ3dlE%7C%7C?hl=en) — “5★ Elvio & Sons - Solid work ethic - Excellent communications / design advice / sharing of ideas - Careful setting of various grades along l…” - A 2016 customer said their pool was installed in 3 days and passed inspections _(confidence: medium)_ - [Houzz](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/stone-pavers-and-concrete/elvio-and-sons-pfvwus-pf~59553390) — “5★ Just had a pool installed this fall by Elvio & Sons and am very happy with the entire process.
