Its website says it is locally owned and operated and backed by a national franchise started in 1999, and that it has been in business 21 years. On Google it holds 4.9 stars from 1,091 ratings, and its BBB grade is A+. A recent customer said Jeffrey Barrales replaced the bottom seal, the left and right bottom brackets, torsion cables, the master keypad and the remote on their garage door. A recent customer said that after a cable and spring snapped, they booked online for the next day and Joshua Giron explained the repair options and completed everything in under an hour. A recent customer who was locked out when the garage keypad stopped working said they came shortly after the call, on a Sunday, and fixed it quickly. A recent customer said Hector arrived right on time and replaced their lift motor. A recent customer who called for an estimate on a new garage door said Ryan Murphy went over options within their budget and gave them time to decide, and that they chose Precision although it cost about 5–10% more than another company's quote. When only one of the two springs they ordered came with the installation, that customer said Ryan called the next morning and scheduled a time to come install the second spring. In an update, the same customer said David came the day they called, diagnosed a resting-height problem caused by the spring winding, fixed the door, and that the warranty covered everything. A recent customer wrote that a technician would not honor the lifetime warranty on a PDS800 motor Precision installed in 2013, saying the model is no longer made, and quoted $1,800 for a new motor. A 2023 customer said both doors were replaced with new openers in a day, and that a door with a small dent from the manufacturer was replaced without question. Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0629893, as active, held by Precision Overhead Garage Door Service. **Strengths:** - Next-day repair — a recent customer said everything was done in under an hour - Warranty-covered fix — a resting-height problem fixed with no payment required - A Sunday lockout call — came shortly after and fixed the keypad quickly **Concerns:** - Lifetime warranty dispute — a recent customer said a 2013 motor warranty was refused ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - The company describes itself as locally owned and operated and backed by a national franchise started in 1999. _(confidence: high)_ - [Official Website](https://fairfieldcountygaragedoors.com) — “About (self-reported, verbatim): Precision Garage Door specializes in residential garage door service.
