Co-owner Claudine Preite has been quoted on berkshireeagle.com about the company's heating oil customers. The company says it has been in business 35 years and lists Adams, Cheshire, Clarksburg, North Adams and Williamstown as its service area. A 2026 customer said that after finding a frozen pipe in the crawl space on one of the coldest days, the company arranged an inspection the very same day. That 2026 customer said the technician went into the crawl space to fix the frozen pipe. A 2025 customer said their furnace stopped working on the coldest day of the season; they called Claudine, and within the hour Jim and Chase were at the house and had the furnace working. A 2022 customer wrote that over the past 8 years the company had come at all hours to fix their furnace and water heater, and that it was fixed right. A 2022 customer said Jim responded to issues any time of the day or night and that oil deliveries were very quick and reasonably priced. A 2022 customer wrote that the price might be a few cents higher, but that if a furnace broke in the middle of winter they would come quickly to repair it. **Strengths:** - Same-day frozen pipe fix — a 2026 customer said an inspection came that day - Within-the-hour furnace repair — a 2025 customer said Jim and Chase had it working - Any-hour response — a 2022 customer said Jim responded day or night **Concerns:** - Slightly higher price — a 2022 customer said it might cost a few cents more ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Co-owner Claudine Preite runs the North Adams heating oil company _(confidence: medium)_ - [Local News](https://www.berkshireeagle.com/localnews/high-heating-fuel-prices-put-crimp-in-traditional-pre-order-plans-in-berkshires/430426) — “berkshireeagle.com — said Claudine Preite, co-owner of Preite Oil Co. in North Adams. “Many of our customers are taking minimal delivery rig…” - Says it has been in business 35 years _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](https://www.preiteoil.com) — “Self-reported 35 years in business” - Lists Adams, Cheshire, Clarksburg, North Adams and Williamstown as its service area _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](https://www.preiteoil.com) — “Stated service area (self-reported): Adams, Cheshire, Clarksburg, North Adams, Williamstown” - A 2026 customer said a frozen crawl-space pipe was inspected the same day and fixed by the technician _(confidence: medium)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT2taRFpUbENTMEV4VVRsc1Zsa3pNV1ZNY0RNdFRXYxAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x498599309c6bb1d3!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOkZDZTlCS0ExUTlsVlkzMWVMcDMtTWc%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ We had an excellent experience with Preite Oil Company, and I can’t recommend them enough.
