The company describes itself as a team of engineers, builders and installers, and its website lists a service area running from Fairfield and Bridgeport to Danbury and Norwalk. A recent customer with a sloped yard said the owner, John, hand-built shadowbox panels for the job. When the first set did not give the privacy that customer wanted, John took all 20 panels back, replaced them with full-privacy cedar panels engineered to follow the yard's 6% slope, and did not charge extra. A recent customer said John and his team replaced an old aluminum pool fence with a wood split rail and privacy fence combination, finishing in two days despite trees and rocks along the line. A recent customer said John Mattio, the owner, provided mock-ups of how the fence would look and sent progress texts and photos during the work. A recent customer said John and his team replaced a wood fence with a vinyl privacy fence and also closed off the underneath of a deck with wood boards. A recent customer said John installed a Sleekfence fence and deer fence and coordinated with their supplier. A 2026 customer said the company built an 8-foot vinyl fence around the property, transitioning to a 4-foot picket fence, plus a new stockade fence with dog guards and a double-wide gate. A 2026 customer with a broken gate latch said John got back to them probably within the hour and came by the same day to fix it. In a 2024 review, a customer said John came to give an estimate less than 24 hours after the inquiry and suggested wood posts with black metal mesh, a design much less expensive than that customer's original idea. **Strengths:** - Hand-built fence panels — a recent customer said John built the panels himself - Fence mock-ups — a recent customer saw how the fence would look first - A two-day install — a recent pool fence replacement despite trees and rocks - Same-day latch repair — a 2026 customer said John came the same day ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - 4.8 stars from 119 ratings on Google _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=PRO%20FENCE%20DESIGN&query_place_id=ChIJsZb5bIoR6IkRlvdhgjlLlk0) — “Google: 4.8★ from 119 ratings” - The website lists a service area including Fairfield, Bridgeport, Danbury and Norwalk _(confidence: high)_ - [Official Website](https://www.profencedesign.com) — “Stated service area (self-reported): Fairfield, Bridgeport, Milford, Trumbull, Easton, Orange, Stratford, Southport, Westport, Weston, Wilto…” - A recent customer said John hand-built the fence panels and replaced all 20 with full-privacy cedar panels at no extra charge _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT25KalIzVlVNRmxoUlVsT2JVbEplVlpHVURsVUxVRRAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x4d964b398261f796!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOnJjR3VUMFlhRUlObUlJeVZGUDlULUE%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ I could not be happier with our new fence, but the stellar customer service that came with it was truly next-level.
