## The honest read

Prosper Construction is a Cherry Valley remodeling contractor, owned by Christopher Cyr, that homeowners around Worcester County hire for bathroom and kitchen remodels and basement finishing. The company describes itself as doing full-home renovations, kitchens, bathrooms, basement finishing and additions across Worcester, Middlesex, Norfolk and Suffolk Counties, backed by a lifetime transferable workmanship warranty, and its Angi profile lists seven years of experience and Spanish spoken. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration (211749) is active in the state registry.

The people who hired them keep naming the same two things: Chris's communication and the crew, especially foreman Adam. An August 2026 reviewer got daily progress updates and immediate calls when structural problems turned up and decisions were needed, with the work area cleaned at the end of every shift. Bathroom remodels dominate the record: two full baths finished in three weeks in 2024, a tiled walk-in shower with glass door and vanity, and a run of 2025 baths where reviewers say the team listened, offered better ideas and kept them informed with timelines. Kitchens and basements fill in the rest — cabinets that lined up perfectly under a matching granite top, a 2024 kitchen where the crew leveled the subfloor to meet the family room, a 2025 job with an electrician relocating outlets and converting can lights to LED, and several finished basements praised for following the floor plan exactly at a competitive price. One 2024 reviewer, after a year of contractors who promised quotes and disappeared, got a detailed quote from Chris the next day. Google shows 5 stars from 24 ratings and Angi 4.7 from 50, with three reviews in the last six months and none negative.

There is little to flag in what customers wrote. Angi's distribution does include a few two- and one-star ratings among its 50, and a 2024 basement customer mentioned hiccups during execution while crediting Chris's perseverance in seeing the job through, so ask how changes and surprises get handled and priced once walls are open.

For a bathroom, kitchen or basement remodel in central Massachusetts, Prosper is a well-regarded, licensed call with a consistent record of clear communication and clean daily work. Get the quote in writing with the warranty terms attached and agree on how mid-job changes will be approved.

**Strengths:**
- Bathroom remodels — two full baths in three weeks, tiled showers praised
- Owner communication — daily updates, next-day quotes, fast text replies
- Foreman Adam — on site daily, fixes anything not right, cleans up each shift
- Basements at competitive prices — floor plans followed exactly
- Lifetime workmanship warranty — transferable, per the company

**Concerns:**
- Mid-job surprises — a 2024 basement job had hiccups before resolution
- A few low Angi ratings — 6% of 50 are two stars or below
