## The honest read

PRS Tree Services takes down trees across the Hartford area: its website lists West Hartford, Hartford, New Britain, Bristol, Windsor and Manchester, and describes tree removal, mulching, landscaping, lot cleaning and stump grinding, with 24/7 emergency service. On Google it carries 61 ratings at 5 stars, and it holds an A+ grade with the Better Business Bureau.

A recent customer said Luis and his crew cut down about a dozen aging trees on their property and took care of the stumps, then put in a fence, removing a bunch of rocks and tree roots along the way. That customer also wrote that callers are asked to leave a message, because Louis works with his employees at every job. After a storm, a recent customer said they came out quickly for the tree and limb removal, and the crew cleaned up all the branches and debris. A recent customer said PRS took down a huge limb hanging over a pool, with no access to the back yard, without any damage. A recent customer said the company did a lot of work at a reasonable price in a day and a half, and that three surrounding neighbors decided to work with them after seeing it.

In a 2025 review, a customer said the owner came for an estimate at exactly the appointed time the morning after the call, and a crew of 4 arrived 40 minutes early that Friday to remove a large pine, a large oak and a smaller flowering tree within 3 hours. A 2025 customer said about seven trees were cleared for a new pool and one stump removed in one day. A 2025 customer said Luis took two large oak trees down at their home in Southington and that the yard was left spotless. A 2024 customer said they had 2 large trees removed from the front yard and 16 from the backyard, and found PRS the most affordable after getting 3 quotes from other tree companies. A 2024 customer said the work was done within a couple days of the call, on a bitterly cold day with snow on the ground. A 2023 customer whose hemlocks were towering over the electrical lines said the workers placed planks of wood on the lawn where their machinery would be working.

A Better Business Bureau reviewer called the company very unprofessional.

**Strengths:**
- Debris cleanup — a recent customer said the crew cleared all branches and debris
- Tight-access limb removal — a recent customer had a limb over a pool removed safely
- Fast removals — a 2025 customer had three trees removed within 3 hours
- An affordable quote — a 2024 customer found them cheapest of 3 other quotes
- Lawn protection — a 2023 customer said workers laid wood planks under machinery

**Concerns:**
- Professionalism complaint — a BBB reviewer called them very unprofessional
- Message-first calls — a recent customer said callers are asked to leave a message
