## The honest read

Putnam's Landscaping is a landscape design, installation and maintenance firm whose stated service area runs through Weston, Westport, Wilton, Darien, Greenwich, Stamford and nearby Connecticut towns. On its Houzz profile, the business describes Grant Putnam as its hands-on owner. Its website says it has been in business 90 years, while the Houzz profile says it has created, installed and maintained landscape designs for over 25 years.

A 2026 customer said their first project with Grant and Putnam's Landscaping was in 2012, and that over the years they gave the team seeding, mowing, landscaping maintenance and redesign, tree trimming, mulching, walkway repairs, and sprinkler system installation and maintenance. That 2026 customer said that in the few instances when they were disappointed, Grant followed up and worked with them to rectify the situation.

A 2026 customer described an extensive landscape installation for a new home in Darien, CT, designed and executed on time and within budget by a team led by Grant Putnam and Chandler Vinton. A 2026 customer hired the team for a full property transformation including tear-down, grading, irrigation and replanting, and said the pricing was transparent. A 2025 customer said the team created privacy in their backyard and offered several options at different price points.

A 2023 customer said Putnam had provided all of their landscaping services for two years, including a major drainage project. A 2022 customer, a repeat client for landscape lighting design and installation, said the company used videos to explain the proposed design. A recent Google reviewer called the work meticulous and thoughtful.

It holds 4.7 stars on Google from 25 ratings and 4.7 stars on Houzz from 13 ratings. In 2024, one Google reviewer left a one-star rating with the words "Not impressed."

Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0608295, as active, held by Putnam's Landscaping LLC.

**Strengths:**
- A 14-year client — a 2026 customer said the first project was in 2012
- On-time Darien install — a 2026 customer said it came in within budget
- Transparent pricing — a 2026 customer said pricing was in line with value
- Design explained by video — a 2022 lighting customer praised the videos

**Concerns:**
- A one-star rating — a 2024 Google reviewer wrote “Not impressed”

**Where sources disagree:**
- The company's website says it has been in business 90 years, while its Houzz profile says over 25 years.
