The company's website says it has been in business 35 years and lists a service area that includes Clinton, Madison, Guilford, Old Saybrook and Essex. A recent customer says a storm broke a large limb from a mature tree, and Brian and his son Ryan came out quickly, evaluated the damage and recommended removing only the broken limb because the tree was still healthy. A recent reviewer says a very large branch broke off their tree, Brian came out for a consultation the same day, and he came back within 2 hours with his team. A recent customer in Clinton worked with Ryan on a plan for removing and pruning several trees, about a day and a half of work. A recent customer says the job was done the next working day after the estimate, at the estimated price, and that a tree swing was put up at their parents' house down the road at no extra charge. A 2026 reviewer said the crew removed 8 or 9 large trees, 90 feet and taller, and cleaned up the entire area. A 2025 customer said Ryan came out the same day a tree fell across their driveway and cut it temporarily so they could leave the house. A 2025 reviewer said five big trees came down in two days, with the workers using lots of safety gear. A 2024 customer said Ryan showed up the next day for a quote and got a dangerous tree removed very quickly. A 2024 reviewer said that after a few trees were removed, there was not a wood chip on the ground. A 2022 customer said they were told someone would stop by to survey the work, but no one showed up or called. A 2022 reviewer said they didn't show after giving a quote. A 2025 reviewer, writing about firewood rather than the tree work, said it was barely seasoned and sold at gas stations for $8 a bunch. Google shows 4.5 stars from 46 ratings. **Strengths:** - Honest limb advice — a recent customer was told only the broken limb needed removing - Same-day consultation — a recent reviewer saw Brian the day a branch broke - Price held to estimate — a recent customer says the estimate was the price - A large removal job — a 2026 reviewer said 8 or 9 tall trees came down - A spotless cleanup — a 2024 reviewer found not a wood chip left **Concerns:** - A missed survey visit — a 2022 customer said no one showed or called - A no-show after quoting — a 2022 reviewer said they didn't show - Firewood quality — a 2025 reviewer called the firewood barely seasoned ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - A recent customer says Brian and Ryan recommended removing only a storm-broken limb because the tree was still healthy _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sChdDSUhNMG9nS0VJQ0FnSURSLWZHWTV3RRAB!2m1!1s0x0:0xc16a14a1aeac1528!3m1!1s2@1:CIHM0ogKEICAgIDR-fGY5wE%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ Update – July 2026 This is my second time using R&T Tree Service, and once again they exceeded my expectations.
