## The honest read

Real Moving & Storage, at 13 Francis J Clarke Cir in Bethel, CT, handles local and long-distance moves, packing and storage. Its website says it has been in business 20 years, offers free estimates, says it is insured, and lists a service area that includes Avon, Farmington, West Hartford, Madison, Guilford, Greenwich, Norwalk, Wilton, Newtown, Westport and Fairfield. Customers name Lucas as the person who quotes the move, and Randy and Carlos as crew leaders.

Google shows 5 stars from 314 ratings and Thumbtack 4.9 stars from 99 ratings, and the Better Business Bureau grades it A+. The written reviews run from 2021 to 2026.

Careful handling is what customers praise. A 2024 reviewer describes furniture in a multi-layer wrap followed by stretch wrap, and a 2026 reviewer says everything was wrapped in blankets, plastic and boxes. One 2026 customer had everything packed, stored and unpacked with nothing broken or damaged. A 2025 customer had 2 one-bedroom apartments moved into a 3-bedroom house in a day, with the furniture taken down and set up and 0 dings in the walls. Long-distance moves come up too, with customers moving from CT to SC and from Southbury to New Jersey. One 2026 reviewer says the crew worked late into the evening, and another says Lucas came to the home to assess the move and give a detailed proposal.

The one 1-star review, from June 2026, says the customer was charged a different fee and never notified.

**Strengths:**
- Careful wrapping — furniture wrapped in blankets, plastic and stretch wrap
- Packing and storage — belongings packed, stored and unpacked with nothing broken
- Long-distance moves — customers moved from CT to SC and New Jersey

**Concerns:**
- Fee change — a June 2026 reviewer says a different fee was charged without notice
